Strv103c is doo doo

why would it not work for the others?

The malevolent dm23:

gets stuck in my Transmission

yeah how u gonna retreat or aim

Btw am not trying to disprove you am curious. I just got the 103c and I am doing way worse with it than the 103a

don’t need to retreat, because you can’t shoot past the Transmission and are Placed far away from your targets

you’ve been aiming before you got hit, now wait until your target gets closer or until you’re repaired

could you give me some pointers on how to use it. I just got it and its nowhere near as batshit unkillable as the 103a that just bounces everything off

yeah am sorry this thing is pure shit just ran more games with it. You 100% have to retreat bro

It’s not the best at that br, but it shouldnt go lower than that.

I 100% agree that it shouldnt face 7.7 but 103a is way better (for its be of 8.0) AND it fights 7.7 EVERY SINGLE GAME. no 7.7 can just lolpen you they have to aim. The Swedish apds does wonders too. If anything they should have kept the 103c 8.7 and moved the 103a up.

allright, finally at PC so lets get down to it.

so lets compare Strv103C to T-55AM then, but instead of you cherrypicking, we compare all aspects of these two vehicles, shall we?

Against HEAT-FS, the only place they can really frontally pen 103C is the LFP and the small patch of armor directly under the gun not protected by grille and commander cupola.

T-55AM is much easier to pen with HEAT-FS on the turret becaseu the composite blocks only really protect the outer turret cheeks.

Against kinetic, T-55AM composites do literally nothing. 103C DM23 will slice right through the UFP and most of its turret, again, bar the aforementioned outer cheeks. T-55AMs 3BM-25 will struggle against the 103Cs armor bar the same weakspots HEAT-FS can pen.

Even the 9M117 wont pen 103C reliably.

let me put it this way - firing on the move and corner peeking with 103C is the same as playing ridges with T-55AM. You are putting yourself in disadvantage by playing into the tank weaknesses, instead of strengths.

Thats not tank issue, thats player issue.

yes, 103C sucks at CQB when compared to 55AM. but it will absolutely obliterate it on open maps or ridgelines playing hulldown.

not to mention 103C has better mobility than 55AM with much better reverse speed and small increase in HP/T.

its casemate. it trades turret for being heavily focused onto frontal arc protection and firepower. again, its up to player to play into its strenghts, rather forcing it into disadvantegous positions.

this literally has nothing to do with you saying that

Leopard 1, T-55A, Centurion MK10 are all MBTs, they sit at 8.0 (8.3 for 55A). T-72s, MBT-70s, TTDs are also MBTs and they sit at higher BR. Hell, even things like M48 sitting at 7.7 is still MBT.

saying that “103C should be compared to MBTs” just doesnt make sense. It is compared to other MBTs.

now with that out of the way…

i love how fast you glossed over the firepower differences as if it doesnt matter, completly ignoring 103C can send DM23 (much better shell than that aviable to 55AM AND which will slice right through the 55AM unless it hits the aforementioned outer turret cheeks, ie. place when player will never intentionally shoot) down the range every 4 seconds (when even aced 55AM will reload almost twice as slow).

to conclude, dont force 103C into disadvantageous situations and it will do just fine. if A1A1 and 55AM can be at 9.0, so can 103C; and it wont completly destroy the 7.7 BR range.

This is simply wrong. The heat cage does help reduce the damage but its still not enough to save the engine. I have wt open in the background rn and armor protection simulation thing shows that even if you shoot the cage directly the 9m117 can clearly take the engine out and thus render the tank useless.
Please note that I heard the armor simulation isn’t really accurate so I may be wrong. But as far as the game shows me a t55am1 should have no issue penning a 103c.

As for the rest of your post you are right.

Thing is, if you’re actually behind a hill like the 103C is supposed to you can just sit there all day taking hits in the engine, as long as you don’t get flanked the enemy can shoot you all they want and continue to give away their position until friendlies take them out. At that point you can repair the engine and continue playing.

The reason it sometimes feels bad is because you so often just sit there waiting for something to be repaired while more things get shot and damaged while you’re just waiting to be saved be friendlies. Comparatively most other tanks would be knocked out at that point but the 103C more often than not get a second chance.

I feel the reason people hate fighting the 103c is the fact that the ammo refuses to detonate and it lives on 1 crew. It just makes it tank like 10 shots before dying. You cant fight back after the first shot but you are still distracting the enemy and taking shots that would otherwise be sent your teammates way

I just had my first match in it since forever. I went 3 kills one assist and zero deaths. :P

I have been using the t55m alot lately. I am on a 5 kill game steak. (5 kills every game with the t55m 4 games in a row so far) plus the other tanks in the lineup I get close to nukes. I hope I can get my second nuke in this century

I found this video that has some pretty solid advicve and tips:

Like the fact that this is basically the only tank that can repair tracks and still aim it’s hull at the same time as well as roll down hills while repairing.

I’ve also been playing the 130C now for a couple of matches and it’s a solid vehicle even at 9.0, it’s just a lot more punishing for players that aren’t careful and doesn’t plan enough ahead. if you get to a good position you basically have a point and click adventure and usually get several kills but if you do not get to that position you get knocked out pretty quickly if you’re caught in the open unaware.

I have had like 2 or 3 times where i got zero kills but then in contrast several matches with 2-3 kills per spawn. So it sort of evens out to an above 1 K/D for me personally so far which is better than my average (I do have it fully spaded and do have previous experience in it as well so that might also influence the results i’m getting).
