Strv103c desparetly needs a buff. They should either move it back down to 8.7 or give it its historical reload. I doubt that would change anything but it would still be better than playing a glorified 8.0 tank. The 2.8 second reload might actually help it. The be change was completely unwarranted.
2.8s. You cannot be serious. 8.7 is fine.
Mad that you can’t farm WWII tanks anymore ?
you might want to understand the topic before posting. The strv103a is still 8.0. the strv103c is the same exact tank effectively with a better shell. Maneuverability is slightly better, but armor is the same. What held up well at 8.0 against APHE and HEAT fails completely with apfsds. The 103c is a really underpowered tank and not really worth running. That being said, i’m not sure how much dropping it a br would help. your lists are already really spread out at that BR range. You would still run it in a 8.7 AB list or the 9.0 RB list. If you have documentation on the 2.8s reload, put it in a report.
Most auto loaders are slower than they are IRL as auto loaders have to be loaded one of 2 ways, either with the ammo types in a block where they get the maximum speed for consecutive shots with the same ammo type, but take significantly longer to rotate to a new ammo type. Or they can be loaded with staggered ammo types: APFSDS/HE/HEAT/APFSDS/HE/HEAT etc. which allows for a faster switch of ammo type at the cost of slower repeat firing of the same ammo type as the autoloader has to move multiple “slots” for the next round. Gaijin uses a longer reload time to copy the 2nd loading pattern.
just because you cant just park in the middle of the road and ignore the enemys’ fire anymore doesn’t make it underpowered. Pulling up its stats on statshark it has a much higher K/D than any of the T-72s or Leo 1s around the same BR, so people are still doing well in it. maybe it just doesn’t suit your playstyle.
Same overpowered garbage that should have never been under 9.0
its not 9.0 thats the issue
kd doesnt mean shit. Sweden is a minor nation so new plays don’t really flock to it. Strv103 is also a quirky tank so only people who know what they are doing play it. So that means higher kd and higher winrate and thus higher br. This is the main reason french players get shafted every br change.
Ah yes the ‘ignore enemy fire’ tank that effectively loses combat capability from every penetrating hit. Even the 103A is only well armored when at distance or when hull down. When 2/3 of your games are city maps with little to no ranged combat, its not a tank you take out every match.
STRV103 autoloader has two ammo bins and can swap between them easily. It doesn’t have any of the problems you mention. By the 1960s almost every nation had ammo bin autoloaders rather than carousel or revolver… except russia. We shouldn’t be balancing all autoloaders on Russia’s failings.
As for stats, a lot of the minor nations have very skewed stats for two reasons. Fewer people play them, especially not newer players. You go to that nation because you are looking for a specific type of combat. Many of them have harder grinds to go through, weeding out weaker players (french low teir, sweden 4.3-6.7). Secondly, you don’t bring out a stv103 in a city. Its suicide. You play it on maps where it has heavy advantages. Thats not the case of leos or T72s. They are generalist tanks and can be brought to any map. You also have the option to just leave matches that don’t correspond to you nations specialty. Sure, you get crew locked, but you can just play another nation.
Not true, both Type 90/10s and Leclerc’s use a conveyor belt auto loader that has to rotate to the right round, same as Russian tanks, although the French load the ammo in pairs in the Leclerc allow a quick follow up shot. Auto loaders are balanced on the most common implementation of the system, which both in game and reality is cassette/carousel/conveyor. Feel free to but in a bug report about the STRV being implemented differently though.
I have my doubts about that theory, more likely they see the vehicles preform well, they buy a premium and infest top tier with ODLing until they grind out their perceived OP thing then proceed to tank its stats until they get frustrated and quite.
Either way Gaijins methods of calculating BR needs work
If it isn’t clear enough to some people, an 8.7 downtier to 7.7 includes next to no WW2 vehicles outside of the Maus and E100.
Even if we were to say there were, this argument makes next to no sense when you consider other vehicles at 8.7 can do the same thing better.
If i am “bro” that you are referring to
Both strv103’s were so OP when downtiered that they were literal money printing seal clubbers
103 needs to go even more up( and not just it) in br until gaijin wakes up and separates WWII from mid cold war era.
Having such vehicles at such br’s is just a joke.
Maybe Gaijin should move BVM/A7/A2 and few others down to 9.0 for few months so those that enjoy farming kills in mid tiers with their OP garbage get their dose of same medication.
8.7 vehicles see next to no World War 2 Vehicles. There are far stronger 8.7 tanks than a stupid cheese wedge that can’t aim properly on rough surfaces.
It’s not as good as you seem to think. Especially when you don’t own it and are at reserve for Sweden.
tank unkillable from the front that farms everything needs “a buff”?
That’s wild
That a joke? DM23 lolpens it.
Everyone here is under some delusion. 40mm sloped at 79 degrees will not stop anything with a decent shell at that tier.
Even APHE slingers can kill it if you aim good enough.
Thanks for a proof that you do not understand the issue.
But i’ll be kind and i’ll explain it to you:
darts pen and then gets eaten by engine and transmision, leaving the crew unharmed.
Aiming higher to hit crewmates results in ricochet.
Basically, strv103 just stands, blocking all shots. If it can not be flanked, then it just act like live shield, until teammates comes for rescue.
It’s fine and it do not need to have lower BR or any buffs
As a Merkava main, no, they don’t. That’s a funny joke.
Israel 8.7 is one of my most played BR’s and I’ve never had a single issue fighting a Strv 103C. They’re a joke vehicle with next to no utility. My Gimel has DM23, a Stabilizer, ERA, and a Laser Range Finder and is lower in BR. My Magach 5 is 8.0 and has DM23, ERA, and a Rangefinder.
All the Strv has going for it is reload rate, but it lacks a turret and stabilizer, and aiming is very difficult.
DM23, which is very common at 8.7, does not get stopped by its engine.
What on earth does merkava have to do with strv? can you stop the offtopic?
It’s just your opinion on vehicle with specific gameplay, that just do not suits you.
Again, unrelated, please refrain from offtopic.
And one of the best armor.
Seems that you are the one that is “bro”
Both were seeing maus/105/ferdi/tiger 2 for how long 3 years …
99 % of all kills that users of 103 a have are either german/russian wwii heavies or american post war heavies
75mm/85mm/88mm/90mm have no chance penning it frontally except some lucky shot trough track
Same thing with 103 c in downtier
Protection analysis hasn’t worked since gaijin introduced their own made up pen calculator so stop using it to prove your “point”
I must agree with u here
Strv 103 has great armor and its one of the most annoying vehicles
