Hey guys, does anybody know if there is any precedence for the STRV 74 to launch it’s 40mm smoke grenades in intervals of 3? It just seems to be a really odd thing to be in the game. Both it being an odd number, and the fact that the smoke grenades land in the same spots to it is really just wasting an extra smoke every time you use it. Is this maybe a bug with a mistyped number?
The real Strv 74 does indeed launch its smoke grenades in 3-round salvos, but from one side at the time, only. It’s supposed to launch them in a 75-80-degree arc from the front to the side of the vehicle, with another 3-round salvo from the other turret-side to give it full frontal concealment (almost 180-degrees with the smoke deployed). The control box have two buttons labeled “right” and two labeled “left”. For a full smoke screen, one of each button is pressed, and it has one more salvo for both sides remaining if needed.
The smoke grenades should land about 50 meters away from the tank, but this is likely not seen in the game. In fact, most vehicles IRL throw their smoke grenades farther than what we see in the game. This might be some game balancing decision or something from gaijin, since it’s so prevalent on so many vehicles.

That’s really interesting actually, thank you!
