I preface this by saying i know very lite around actual tank rounds. but i know a decent amount on physics and physics around guns in general. to me this does not make sense. care to explain deeper?

In 2017, ZBiAM reported that Rheinmetall was aiming for a “760mm long penetrator” and a projectile weight of 10kg with a velocity of around ~1650m/s sporting a lightened composite sabot, sometime later, the owner of Under the Tank Turret blog reported that they were looking into measures to increase the velocity above 1700m/s.

Neither was M829A3, though testing throughout all existing variants through M829, M829A1, and M829A2.
How was A3 not relevant in late 1990s?? It was already under development for a few years, it entered service with the US in 2003. Also lolk, lets just ignore ATK stating the round is compatible with both L/44 & L/55.
M829A3 isn’t “only relevant to desert environments”, it’s an entirely new penetrator made to combat ERA types harnessing 4S22.

The only connection M829A3 has to desert environments were the ranges presented during the gulf war, hence why its design was centered towards ERA mitigation instead of outright penetration over distance.
Hurr durr. I also had an image showing that M829A3s firing pressure at 21C was only about 565MPa, almost identical to DM63s, but lost it so.
Its accuracy and capabilities are significantly diminished when fired through longer barrels, with loss of accuracy due to the improper efficiency of the propellent and the excess speed gained from it.
Doesn’t make sense, as such, source.

I’ll have to dig up what I used to read into the M256E1 tests, I only touched this topic what feels like half a year ago.
because we already know that the 2a7v is already better armored then then strv122s and the, just that gajin isnt taking our sources and prefers a 50 year old swedish armor test. the strv123 is effectively just and 2a7 variant, nothing more

Think about the benefits, gaijin may repair the D Tech of L2A7 when Strv123 coming :D
will believe that once we get the promised leopard 2a7 DM rework first, they gotta fix the basics first of all

hope so, most of the DM of toptier need rework, as i know toptier of German, British, Japan, China, Italy and France have obvious DM issues

next damage model to be reworked is type 10’s so it will take a while

well britains got “fixed” already in the recent patch sadly enough, if you consider that a fix
chinese are been fixed when britains been fixed too, but i think its definitely not a fix
nah man PUMA’s damage model hasnt even been touched since it came out i wished the PUMA had its real armor values it would be pretty nice for bouncing up to 57 mm apfsds
before that happens they fix chally mantlet
watch as both dont make it ingame

i think that was one of the “addressed” things this update, they initaly buffed it in the update server, but then nerfed it again and said sth like further investigation showed it is worse
