The Swedish 2A8s are designated 123B; the 123As are the upgraded 122s
I genuinely, seriously cannot fathom what makes you think that gaijin will downgrade the armour of the 122 → 123A when there is literally no evidence to suggest that the armour was even touched at all in the entire upgrading process, except for a few quote I found saying that they had improved the protection of the crew (which I would like to make very clear (even though you will almost certainly ignore this part and every other time I’ve said this) that I am NOT saying the 123A should have better protection than the 122B+, unless ofc more reliable evidence shows otherwise).
Just because the 123A is said to be of 2A7/2A7V standards, it does not mean that they changed the hull armour; you can actually see that the 123A’s UFP is more similar to the 122D’s than the 2A7V’s (who would’ve guessed?). Moreover, they were actually brought up to Strv 123 standards, which were chosen by the Swedish military, so that point is moot anyway.
And @dotSHINI, while I agree that the 2A8 would make more sense for them to model compared to some of the other tanks that have been mentioned, the 123A being very similar to the 122 means that they will basically only need to swap the gun, and add a few doohickeys like “that big fat camera at the front”.

Literally the only actual option. It does not uses mexas anymore. It’s composite if changed would be of 2a7 internally what means nothing in game. There’s no way it would be like the 122 given they’ve changed the frontal armour

Source visuals lmao and the fact Sweden don’t make composites for their leopards and never have. And they are sent to Munich for refurbishment. Mexas hasn’t been standard in about 10 years 🤷♀️ there should be 0 differences between 2a7V and 123A apart from one has added roof armour

See that’s where im personally confused since IBD call mexas their own product without any mention of Anker so idk whether they actually helped in development what tbh I doubt or if they just had a licenced product

I think “Åkers Krutbruk Protection AB” was at some point bought by IBD and was (is?) a subsidiary.

Yeah. I would probably also say that " my company " developed something if it did it in collaboration with another company that mine bought a few years later since that other company is now part of mine and anything “we” did together is technically all mine now.
Either way the factory that made parts of it is located in Sweden.
