Eh first gen thermals and far weaker armor pen are pretty big downsides, oh no 100mm difference on a plate that only the object 292 can pen at close range. The mobility isn’t too different either.
That’s why I mentioned above the Strv 122 aren’t the best Leos but they simply exist in more numbers than that of the Italian and German 2A7s.
Sweden has the 2nd best Leo in game and more of them than other nations have of the best Leo available.
Again only the 2a7s have better thermals so 🤷♀️
And the armour pen thing is ridiculous. You can do fine with a dart with 300mm of pen in top tier because all the weak points are identical. Sweden has the best leopard full stop they have better armour then something 30 years newer

essentially , so not quite the same, you might be on to something with the 2A7V/V+ there.
Might be good in terms of addition to the game though, 123B with APS foldered with the 123A without APS for example (if that’s one of the differences).

Tbh I don’t think we’ll know how similar the 2 are until both tanks come to troops so later this year for 123A and 123B in 2 years but I would feel safe guessing it’s more likely a 2a7+ ish modification with later plans to improve up to 2a8

Not sure what you mean? the 2A8S hasn’t been shown yet so we don’t know if it has APS or not.
Would find it weird if they didn’t come with APS, like isn’t that one of the core upgrades compared to the 2A7?
In general i was hoping the 123A would have APS but modifying it that much further was probably considered a waste compared to just buying a better one directly

Real problem lies on additional plates, they can sometimes refuse to ricochet incoming shells which results of getting penned in 2A7V.
Its quite noticable, 122’s weighs around 62.5T and has 68km top speed while 2A7V without mine plate weighs around 64.5t and also has reduced top speed.
2A7V suppose to have the same acceleration that 2a4 have by sacrificing top speed but gaijin refuses to model its transmission properly.
They were always the best version, now with addition of DM53 they became even stronger.
Hopefully gaijin will fix the anti-era issue on DM53 by letting go of their egos.

The left one is 123, and the right one is 122. The 122 will be sequentially upgraded to 123 at the KNDS factory.
