Structures on CDK are messed up

I have been trying to configure a defending area on a custom mission and for some reason static defences like the one on my screenshots are either not making any damage or can’t seems to aim.

This one does 0 damage (but will never miss me):

This one will do good damage but sometime fail to aim:

I even tried this thing for fun and still no damage !

Here you can see the impact of it on my cromwell 3 (It kinda need ibuprofen):

I tried many more of them without sucess (Some time I did get killed by them but it feels more like a lucky shot than anything)

Here you have the parameters I am using every time (using unitSetProperties at mission init):

I replaced the structures by tankModel with the exact same parameters and here it work perfectly. it’s just sad that I can’t use the structure instead.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? Or is this just some more spaghetti from the snail?

I guess, initially Gaijin had plans to create interesting content and mission with a lot such PvE elements.
Then the game shifted to nearly 100% PvP.
Hence, these elements as CDK itself became nearly forgotten.

I hope that once all the vehicles are introduced, PvE content will become relevant again.
Then we can have more convenient and useful CDK.

It is sad to see all the tools we have but are not working…
I could do so much more with the CDK but it’s a pain to use it, the doc are outdated, and there is nearly 0 usfuel tutorials.

They already did “something” by updating the CDK’s HUD but that came with other issues…
I would be thankful just for them fixing it because crashing the CDK with a right click isn’t normal.

Enviro, what version of the CDK are you using? My properties window is different that what you posted above and I am using the latest version for download.

I know what you mean about the CDK crashing, 5 out of 10 times it crashes when I select the “Show Units Assets” button. On some of my maps, I can’t use that option at all, it crashes every time.

my game version is

But I don’t know where to look for the CDK.

And yes… for the crashed it’s mostly due to some asset not working. I always turn the show asset before adding anything and save everytime I add something that works. That way I am sure that all the asset I have are clean.

The first 2 arent meant to attack actual tanks. They’re for attacking other structure units and the low poly tanks. They can still do damage but only to things that have zero armor. Which pillbox is the second? There are like 5 types that use that same model. The one with a naval cannon should do damage. As for the last one try using the one with ground/naval battles. That one should do damage. For the parameters you just need to have fire_at_will and accuracy. Dont need to mess with “effshootingRateByPlayer” if you already have “effshootingrate”. For AI gunners im not 100% sure but thats for the mg on tanks and gunners on planes.

Hello and thanks for your answer!

Yeah I used the Naval one and tried the others. The issue I had with it is that sometime it stuck itself looking at the sky (mostly when I use the “unitRestore” Action to revive them. I have a “unitSetProperties” right after it to set everything back up as I want them to change side when a team cap the point)

And yeah I figured the “effshootingRateByPlayer” ain’t worth playing with. For the “AI gunners” the doc is realy unclear about it but I will make some test. CDK Mission Editor: Triggers - War Thunder Wiki

At the end I used “tankModels” like the “germ_at_gun_pak40”. They do a very good job and there is “plenty” of them

Edit: The “movable” parameter inside the “unitSetProperties” is bugged too. When uncheck the unit will not “visualy” move but if I push it with a tank, it’s hitbox will move.

When did you last download the CDK and install it?

It was after the 11 of january
