You should try the Israeli Chaparral if you really want to feel pain. Same or worse mobility, no radar, can hardly lock helis but is a whole BR higher than the Strela and isn’t getting the optical lock thing.

none of the chappy are getting new missiles, the US one is already “buffed” with the change in BR last week

The US one got new missiles. The Israeli already had MIM-72G.
Still not good enough for it’s BR though imo. In particular if the new japanese SAM stays lower than it.
The japanese one is not gonna stay low for long, at least not with how it performs currently.
Its a missile change which is more imoactful than this report.

Wow, only after a single year? Thats really fast considering the pbj is only just now getting it’s AP naval bombs and is still missing it’s torpedo when the historical report was passed almost 7 years ago now

Missing ordnance load outs are treated as suggestions. Also the only reason we’re getting AP bombs, is that they finally decided to rework them.
And passive detection is an integral part of the Strela system.
So it should have been added at the beginning of the introduction of this vehicle into the game, but of course they didn’t do it. Probably ran out of money for programmers…

Compared to type93 yes russian strela gets stuff almost instantly
You can say that all day but it will be irrelevant, point still stands.
I mean, not really no, its not a search radar system, its a glorified RWR bolted onto a system that has existed since the 1970s. To that same end, stuff like the 9S16 cant cue targets, its largely useless in the grand scheme of WT.
By comparison the IRST and track radar of the strela work fine, you know, the things that actually allow it to engage targets.
What kind of foolishness are you talking about? Even as a RWR it is very useful and desirable. At least you know that something has appeared in the sky.
it does have its uses, lots of planes have radars so it would actually increase its situational awareness
The strela doesnt have irst, and the radar doesnt actually allows you to engage targets as the missiles aren’t enslaved to the radar.
