It isn’t large with the current gameplay. Just rush to the centre and everyone else will be there.
It’s even more cramped if you actually want to use your mach 2 capable jet at mach 2. The Mig-23s can easily hit mach 2, but they never will in gameplay due to the size of the maps.
As long as the transit time can be somewhat interesting, such as paying attention to radar/rwr then I agree.
Multiple airfields and spawn points would help the player density issue.
2 minute 30 seconds to 36k ft, but realistically speaking. I doubt youd climb much higher than 20k most of the time. So under 2 minutes for “high alt in war thunder”
iris-t would not be “meta defining” at this point, it would be “why in gods green earth would you ever consider flying any other nation’s top tier besides the one that gets it?”
32 players on a map that large sounds like a good amount.
The only issue with that map size is how certain aircraft has really low fuel loads, and others lack drop tanks entirely. A Mig-29 only gets about 36 minutes of fuel at most, and it is one of the thirstiest planes in the entire game while using 110% throttle.
There aren’t exactly any modern engagements with 16 aircraft facing off against 16 other aircraft. It’s unrealistic. 8v8 should be the minimum, it’s simple really. I don’t know why the heck you’d seem to enjoy a 16v16 clusterfrick, but you do you. You just happen to be in the minority of players who enjoy such, as indicted by the numerous amounts of polls that were done around the time of Seek & Destroy’s release.
I would play sim, but I’m not used to it as I am with Air RB. I would take awhile before I can leave the key binds, controls, and become used to it. I plan on doing it in the future, just not for awhile. It’s got a skill curve to it, and I’ll learn it when I have the time to do so.
