The need for HQ-17 to speed up the missile is not an unfounded judgment, but a statement based on comparative facts.
Really?
IPA7 aka test aircraft
I really wanted this, for this year…
I really don’t care either way. I was under the assumption HQ17 was a different (or modified?) chassis, so maybe it’s a bit more different to Tor than Tunguska is to its M1 mod?. It’s also good to have 2 SPAA incase your first one get’s destroyed, so you don’t have to waste backups.
Because, even if it’s speed drops off at distance, and even if the missile becomes difficult to control at distance, it still has the raw range to hit things the SPAA of 8 other countries can not.
600 people: put the BMD-4M in the tech tree!
Gaijin: Nah I’m good
The Chinese plane in the leak has not been shown up for a long time, and the test server will be shut down tomorrow. I understand that typhoons and gusts are the protagonists, but what about our “storms”?
Don’t really have a mode to play it in, or have the rp go anywhere i need it otherwise i wouldve bought it.
I have only one question: have you ever played TOR? If range determines whether a SPAA is good or not, then it means that the TOR-M1 and VT1 are equally good, but this is not the case.
What a stupid idea; why would they do this again?
italy and ger tested them. until taurus or storm shadow we will need them i guess
I hope they update it tomorrow and extend it slightly, because I still hope for some worthwhile ground vehicles.
After I am done with the 2A5/2A6NL (which will be a while, grind for those is paused indefinetly), I’ll just use my tanks to research an actually good heli like the Tiger Block 2.
To get the long range you need to enable automatic lead which causes the missile to loft automatically. Problem is that its super stupid and loves to waste all of its energy for no reason causing you to miss
In the past, gaijin’s justification for launching the Panstir was that “we believed that the air defense performance of the TOR-M1 was lower than expected, so we decided to launch the panstir”. Now, gaijin has launched an HQ-17 that is no different from Doyle, which simply extends the missile guidance time without making any changes, as you can clearly see in data mining.
Probably no tbf, it is a copy, but there are not lot of premiums anywayd
It’s not the only thing which determines it, but it’s clearly an important factor.
TOR / HQ17’s missiles definitely drop off a cliff in terms of performance at distance, but even having a chance to hit the Su-34 throwing KH38’s at you from 14km away is something someone in an ADATS / ITO / Flarak could only dream of.
bro what?
Seriously, Gaijin decided to pack all these three as a big pack?
I just had to complain and voila. AGM-65 on a F-15I
