In game these are AIM-9Ms. We don’t have AIM-9L/I-1 currently.
Yea I get your logic,
but …
- Finnish subtree should get most of its vehicles it operated and especially the ones which are unique compared to the parent nation tree, Sweden. That was the whole point of a subtree. K9 is unique compared to Bkan 1C.
- VIDAR is Norwegian
- Similarly, both Italy and Hungary are getting their vehicles but in different forms. Then Finland should also get its operated vehicle and since K9 VIDAR is already the premium offering, K9FIN Moukari should be the TT alternative.

Using this excellent logic in relation to the AIM-9 missile, the Typhoon should receive the AIM-9M since there is no technical limitation on its use on this aircraft, from the German side 😂

Yeah, I don’t understand it, Italy also uses AIM-9L/I and AIM-9L/I-1, yet it gets AIM-9M, other European nations probably too.
This is for ASA-M for example.

Too add technically they are different missiles using different algorithms and prob different methods to reduce smoke yet the difference is more on the level between a aim120B and aim120A technically different missiles but for war thunder doesn’t model the difference. For what I know about the missiles and what war thunder cares about they both use the 9L Body and base seeker and same theory for irccm and smokeless
