esa radars are being dished out to aircraft with a distinct disadvantage compared to its peers, fullback is miles behind the F-15E so it can have a PESA, Rafale is stuck with MICAs for the forseeable future and needs a PESA to compensate

Tbh the rafale probably has the worst aesa radar on any modern fighter, so even a 63v2 could outperform it

Question! How do the German, British and Italian Eurofighters compare in the air-to-air department?
So far, all I’ve caught is;
German has:
-No IRST.
-AIM-9L/I instead of AIM-9M.
Anything else I am missing, or is the German one just the “worse” of the bunch?
Why BVVD?
“Worse” in that being kneecapped is worse than losing a few fingers, sure.
IRST will have minimal effect, on account of being stuck with 9Ms or 9M equivalents. Only difference with the L/I is the smoke, which only really matters in sim.

The German version will be with IRST, it just has two of them now because of an error, one of them will be removed. As far as I understand

I’m… fine… with most of the kits being saved for Rank IX except for the 9M and, to a lessor extent, GBU-10/12 with Sharpshooter pod.
You’ll have to ask a french researcher since I relegate myself to the typhoon but I can assure you it isnfar from the worst AESA fighter radar, that title going to early F-2 I imagine

no, BVVD meant that it has 2 optical targeting pods (1 is IRST and 2nd one is Targeting pod). And it was just a bug that the german EF still has IRST

What about flight performance? Would all 3 Eurofighters fly the same? Statcards are different, but I don’t trust those, hahah.
