So, will the VBCI receive the Eirel or Eirel NG?
According to Shepard Media’s Radar and Electronic Warfare Systems Handbook, the Eirel is intended to protect against IR-guided AT missiles, while the Eirel NG is designed to defend against semi-automatic ATGMs (perhaps both IR and SACLOS).

Oww, I was looking forward for the one with the 40mm canon!
25mm canons just don’t cut it at 12.0 (which is only natural, they aren’t meant to), while the 40mm one could be quite decent over there.
