So? It would still be interesting to see how well something like the Su-47 would measure up against the planes that actually did enter service.
The Su-47 wasn’t just built for research, it also was a tech demonstrator for new technologies to be used in the Su-35 and Su-47.
Who knows, maybe the Su-57 would have forward swept wings now if they had found a solution to the wings being too fragile.

Don’t get me wrong, it would for sure be an interestning aircraft but it’s just never getting added due to the precedent set by the EAP, and people just need to accept that.
To be fair, I don’t think that the forward-swept wing design would’ve caught on. The conclusion was that it could work, but the costs and effort associated with making them work was just too great, and it brought along disadvantages.
I for one just like to see it because it is cool.
But I acknowledge that it probably won’t be possible.

For tech demonstrators that were never meant to get armed, yeah, there is little point in requesting them at this point.
But I don’t think people should just accept that ruling and stop requesting vehicles like that. There will be a point at which Gaijin runs out of production vehicles to add to the game, especially modern ones. At that point they have two options:
- Go the WoT route and make shit up
- Add vehicles that existed, but didn’t enter production
I don’t think they’d go the WoT route.
Soon they will run out of top tier ideas, since the some of modern vehicle’s have classified info.
Some nations already don’t have any top tier MBTs left to be added and most modern tanks don’t have their real armor values anyways lol
Now that we are apparently reaching the Eurofighters there won’t be many top tier planes for most nations left to be added either
Once they run out of those kinds of vehicles as well they could always try to improve the game to be less repetitive by adding new game modes and things of the like, just a thought though…

Yeah, it loses energy retention, acceleration and top speed due to the higher weight and drag, but does get a significant amount of additional lift and especially control authority.
Depending on how/if they model Maneuver Enhancement and Decoupled Yaw it might be among the most agile aircraft in the game. Though the lack of HMD will still hold it back quite a bit.

Once again, yes they are likely to run out of “modern stuff” however WW2 and early to mid Cold War has hundreds to thousands of missing vehicles that could be added.
