In fairness to the Su-33, it’s not a downgrade given the weight increase is actually marginal. Especially (assuming) they’re going to get the AL-31F-M1’s, and it will have the canards that seem to be mechanized like the Su-34 which like I’ve said is the first Flanker to actually feel like a Flanker.
If we don’t get the R-27EA or R-77, Gaijin will be giving us a side-grade. It’s not conclusive we aren’t getting either missile, but the ambiguity about the R-27EA is killing me, personally, lmao.

My dude. Given the WVR and BVR capabilities of the aircraft (how BR’s work and how planes are generally introduced) the F-14B and F/A-18A-C should’ve been added around the same time, and the Su-33 should’ve joined them. End of discussion.
