I know, it sucks having weapons you can’t fully utilize because of an arbitrary 20km limit on targeting pods

Well… Nelson has slightly heavier armour and they got a major upgrade in AA mid-war. So there is still room to make the same class even stronger.
But yeah, finally something different to the 15" SAP/APC slingers we’ve had so far and something with armour

Not likely. We’re cooked this patch. It’ll be fun to fly regardless. I try not to just call something DOA and not fly it at all, but I’m not going to lie, this is sub-optimal.

Except for that one time the USSR/Ru got it’s first true R-73 carrier, and US mains whined so hard the R-73 got nerfed AND they forced the early addition the AIM-9M. This of course was after whining hard enough to keep the R-73 out of the Apex Predators update for the plane that was designed to carry it in the first place.

If Gaijin gives the Su-33 the Bars radar it was proposed with AND the R-27EA, it will be “top-tier” (very very unlikely). If we get the Bars AND no EA, just the R-77, it will Top Tier™ (really just bottom of the top, like usual, also unlikely). As it seems to be implemented right now, there’s no way in heck this thing is “top tier”. It would’ve been “top tier” if it had been added with the F-14B, fullstop.
Again. Su-33 should’ve been added with the F-14B and the F/A-18A should’ve come then too. Su-30M/M2 and Su-30MKK should’ve been added by now too. The US should have the F/A-18 by now, but it by no means is suffering. Su-33, timely implemented would’ve been an excellent addition to the USSR to keep it competitive, BACK then. Su-30M/M2 would’ve just been a faster Su-25SM3, unfair maybe, but not like the Su-34, which admittedly, is clearly the best plane the USSR/Ru got this year.
