Storm Warning - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

The best light tank in War Thunder, especially for its BR, is not suffering.
HSTVL is at least as good for its BR as Begleit and 2S38.
I won’t claim VCC-80/60 cause that’s the best for its BR.

“But 26 rounds!” Why do you need more than a 10:1 KMR at most?

I’m waiting for M10 Booker personally to augment HSTVL for when there aren’t great HSTVL maps.

Depends on the decompression, J11B probably not cause it is still PD, be it 200mm larger in diameter, it is still PD and not ESA so unless F15Es go up it is probably same BR as J11A, despite every person can see how it is better. Otherwise all ESA to 14.0.

In my opinion, just MiG-29SMT (9-19) BR decompression to 14.7 in Q1 or Q3 2026 if gajin add new IR Air-to-Air missile R-74M

The US tree also doesn’t need more light tanks at top tier.

US top tier winrates can’t get much lower. I would much rather Gaijin adds something that would actually improve the winrates, like the SEPv3, than some waste of 400k RP light tank that will change nothing.

They aren’t going to add new IR AAMs unless it is stuff equal to what we currently have.

Not J11B, that thing still has PD radar, not PESA or AESA, not quite comparable, should really be F15C/E/I/J(M) up to 14.0 with J11B and J10A, Su27SM stays 13.7 with F16Cs and stuff that are less capable, and then all stuff that are ESA radar go 14.3.

Early PESA radars are worse than late gen mechanical radars. That makes no sense really.
Yeah, a lot of features will probably miss but they are still on par atleast. If F15E had high data rate TWS with quick refresh rate or if typhoon gets its tws with priority track, it will be on level of early pesa with its features or even better.

The next group of missiles to be added IMO is going to be the 90s IR missiles, so MICA IR, Python 4, PL-8B, and R-73M, maybe ASRAAM(?)

R74 won’t be that far, just a little bit better, not crazy stuff like PL10. ±75 degree off bore sight and slight improvement otherwise, easily another R73, not like it can do that much more that R73 can’t. 9X and stuff, depends on if they care to actually redo IRCCM.

Eh… MICA IR and ASRAAM would also mean Aim-9X, IRIS-T, etc.

I dont think its entirely beyond the possiblity we will see some of those added to low performance ground attackers sooner rather than later. But probably not for another year

Oh god please no

Issue is, with J11B, we have 0 info, J10B even worse, we know it is ESA but not whether it is PESA or AESA lol, neither do we have weight, engine or IRST (although assumed to be same with J10C). We have sources which says it is AESA cause PESA originally produced by 14th Institute actually had less range than type 1473, resulting in it being discarded but after all, 0 info means Gaijing will probably pull some random stats.

With another 1000 posts in 24 hours, did we actually get some news/etc?

Harrier Gr9A with Brimstones and ASRAAMs when gaijin

Funnily enough, I dont consider the Harrier Gr9A a low performance CAS aircraft :D

Pair that with an SPAA with an longer range than 10km.

At 13.0 no less, so it faces Phantoms

And then you get to if 9X and IRIS-T then, R-74, Python 5, and PL-10.

So, TBH I see the actual next set of missiles really being, R-73M, Python 4, and PL-8B, which could all I think be added soonish next year

I mean eh? it was an Su25 with the First R73s in game, the harrier Gr7 was one of the first jets with AIM9Ms and they werent stupid op so I can see that

at 14.0 i would lol
