Storm Warning - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

Yea, AESA can do more and it’s amazing IRL but for WT all those extra features aren’t necessary and detrimental to gameplay

which is why the coalition thing should go to US and UK?? since US is closer to Australia military since WW2, same with Canada who largely relies on the US for its defence.

Will the A7E attack aircraft of Thailand carry thermal imaging pods and AGM65B air-to-surface missiles?

Most places i’ve seen report Blue Vixen as being consistantly equal to if not better than AN/APG-73. Despite being much smaller.

Given a mechanical radar can go toe to toe with a E-scan radar, shows its not to be triffled with.

We knwo nothing about either, so to assume one is blanket better than the other is just folly. But given CAPTOR-E is newer, its reasonable to assume its better.

The idea that “MERICA IS BEST” is just hubris. Yes, the US invest most of their money into miltiary R&D instead of thigns like health care or education. But that doesnt mean non-US equipment is defacto worse or outright bad.

Like claiming US missile will just be better because they are made by the US

Given Storm Shadows track record so far. That is a bold blanket statement to make

part of why i think AN/APG-77 will be best or 2nd best radar (to APG-82v1), it has by far the longest range of any fighter AESA, and though it doesnt have some of the super advanced stuff on like an F-35 for ground pounding, it doesnt matter ingame

we did get a pretty cool name for our SDB sucessor though, Stormbreaker

did we name our new guided bomb after a fictional hammer?

is it that unreasonable though? considering US is the best country in the world at stealth currently

Again, bold statement, we will have to see how the US compares to things like the 6th gens being developed.

Just because a lot of nations didnt dump billions into the development of 5th gens (though the UK was a lead partner in the F-35 program and iirc, the FAA provided much of the early requirements that the USMC went on to use for the F-35) doesnt mean that the US defacto has a monopoly on all stealth technology.

Odd, how can we rely on a nation that threatens us with losing our independence? Heck we even avoid buying US as much as possible(and when we do we remove the US for the factor as much as possible)

We do not rely on the US for defence, they have us at gunpoint forcing us to rely on the US. Heck, the last time we tried to rebuild our military the US threatened us until we stopped.

To be honest in recent years, out of the ASEAN countries, only the Philippines are openly hostile with China. Even countries like Vietnam and Indonesia which have territories conflicts with China, seem to have found a way to balance relationship with China and the US. Don’t forget that China are already many ASEAN countries biggest trade partner and China would also like to invest more in these countries.

I think a lot of the news we get when it comes to “conflict with China” is the stuff going on the south china sea. where China is actively trying to claim huge parts of what is considered international waters or even sovereign waters of other nations.

To be frank, to all parties involved, it is like playing an act such that they will not be treated as “weak” and no one want to escalate the level of conflicts to affect other cooperations and business.

Perhaps, but I do think there is a reasonable argument for why some nations in that area perhaps shouldnt be paired with China in much the same way that Ukraine shouldnt be a sub-TT of Russia.

Though, we do also have Taiwan in the same tree as China… so…

I agree, my argument was not an intent to say some ASEAN countries should be in China TT or not, just feel that some people may not realize the different aspects of China-ASEAN relationship.

Yup, thats fair.

I dont think anyone would be happy with the placement in either place on “political grounds”

But as for need, then Japan is likely more in need that China is, especially as China can always just get US tech via Taiwan and there are likely more appropriate sub-TTs for china like Pakistan

Not to even mention that China still has an absolute boatload of domestic stuff still yet to come before it ever needs a sub.

Whereas Japan, in certain areas, is already scraping the barrel a bit.

Yep, that should be the more important reason to add a Sub-TT and why I think South africa was stupid let alone India for Britain. We have loads left to be added

Not anymore. After Japan acquires the Thai sub-tree, the CAS is already strong enough, and the ground vehicles will be supplemented by the T-84 and VT-4 in the future, well, at least the T-84 will definitely appear. So, most of Japan’s problems have already been solved by Thailand :)
