I would say most of the crying(some of it justified and not for nothing) was for 9.0 and above ground additions that were not just more challengers + bug fix’s for the challengers. In this area I would say Germany has more variety/better lineups to this day.

I cant believe im actually seeing people give the “thai tree prevents the stuff japan has from coming.” Like, f2a and t-1. Thats literally it. And at least the former is definitely coming anyway either this update or the next.

Yeah, the thing with C&P vehicles is that while they may be boring, they don’t take away from any real development time, they’re basically free to add, so with Japan having no real CAS for ages this Thai tree was a no brainer

The only real complaint i have is no a37.

I would argue that IMO three important Aircraft from RTAF service are missing and would have been a lot better than current C&P; OV-10C (effective low tier CAS finally), OA-37B (instead of F-84) and T-50TH (instead of Gripen)

Yeah, but as it isn’t in the game already it kind of makes sense, presumably when they do add it Japan will get one.
I think the Thai tree has been a bit of an afterthought tbh, that’s why we get the dev blog for it so early
Eh, i assume if it didnt come for usa and thai as a tech tree vehicle with the thai tree, itll only ever come as an American event vehicle.

The good news is that mid to high tier armed trainers and COIN aircraft seem to be warthunder’s future so maybe.
Eurofighter or Rafale.
Personally my bets are on Eurofighter but we will see.
My bet would be the Rafale as it’s a bit smaller and lighter than the Eurofigher

Theres merit to both view.
You could point towards the Eurofighters 20kn more thrust as a counterpoint.
Available numerical values do seem to point to the Eurofighter though, but perhaps the French discord have some higher numbers waiting for a bug report.
(Pls Eurocanard fans lets not argue over this)

I’d say Rafale but at the cost of drastic speed loss due to weaker engines. EFT should be better in prolonged dogfights and BVR while Rafale would be better for WVR and quick dogfights.

The weapons loadouts will support that too with MICA and Magic 2 being better close in for the Rafale and AMRAAM and AIM-9 having the better range on the Eurofighter
