I will say this too, after doing a little more research, I have a very good idea of what we’re getting in December.
It’s going to just be the Su-33, it’s going to be the 2010 trial version. It will have AL-31F-M1’s like the Su-34. It will have all the ordnance of the Su-27, and if they want to do a funny, Kh-31A or even the Kh-41 (air-launched Moskit), it will be pointless, useless, and we’ll get the Marineflieger treatment now too.
If gaijin has a heart, they’ll make the Su-33 the way it was marketed during trials which is with a PESA/AESA (so Bars, likely), and R-77’s, maybe R-77-1’s.
The good: While I’m still not convinced the canards are meant to/capable of be(ing) useful, no one will really complain about them. The AL-31F-M1’s are a done deal, so it should manage to fly like a slightly more nimble Su-34.
The bad: ARH’s will require semi-historical revisionism. We are yet again going to get Yak-141 treatment, if the devs are merciful. Even though the Su-33 will be a bottom bracket plane, like the Su-27SM, people will still complain.
The ugly: This plane could’ve released alongside the F-14B in mid-June of 2023, and would not have needed the ARH-revisionism to be balanced. Now the Su-30M has a limited case for being introduced at all into the game, and the Su-30SM will be delayed probably until June of 2025, or even as late as December of 2025.
Still holding out hope for the Su-30SM, but I’m not optimistic about the chances.
