Stop with the squadron vehicles

The problem isn’t the fact that its a top tier Squadron vehicle, its more the fact that its a vehicle that should be 13.7 being added that carries 4 fox 3s. And this isn’t a mig29 situation where it should be a lower BR due to the mediocre performance of the vehicle, if you’ve played this thing in the dev server it feels almost exactly like an f16 if not better in most circumstances. But since its a squadron the win rate will be tanked and they wont move it even if it will be very difficult to fight against against anyone who has a remote idea to what they are doing. Also this acts as the top of the line Multirole aircraft for China currently (similar to something like the f16s or AV8Bfor most nations) in GRB and is only obtainable VIA months of research or buying it with GE.

False. Premium, event, and squadron vehicles are all different things.

For the purposes of that statement that includes all vehicles that are on that side of the tech tree, that is why there has not been a single event, squadron, or premium that have released at the maximum BR, they clarified this later aswell if you really dont believe me.

That went out of the window in 2018 with the XM-1

3 months to get Jeff,or instantly for nearly 9k GE. Same for the Japanese Boxer. Its good they added squadron vehicles, many people myself included had all squadron vehicles for months and the RP into them went into void.

It’s not a copy paste:
It has extra:

And at the moment it’s lacking its KETF Air Burst Munitions and its passive APS: Community Bug Reporting System

If it doesn’t get this munition, then I agree that it should go down in BR.

Btw, the BeNeLux ground tree won’t come for this update and was actually predicted to come in November or in the late winter update at the end of the year.

Cheers!

I agree with the BR, the fact that supposedly better armor it’s a reason to a 0.3 BR rise, something seems off, but still a good addition to the Tech Tree, along with the RCV (P), I’ll enjoy playing with it, seems a very good vehicle, actually better than the Premium counterpart.

Prob cuz he doesn’t know how squadron vehicles work

We’ll get a tech tree variant eventually, the one we’re getting this update (afaik, correct me if I’m wrong) is the Block I variant, there’s still the Block II & III

The rest of BeNeLux ground is coming. The leaker who got this entire update right and the last 3 updates completely correct down to the extremely oddly specific details has already leaked BeNeLux ground. We at least know that France will get a Leopard 2 A4 NL, a Leopard 2 A6 NL, and that Leopard 1 with the Cockerill 3105 turret. France getting Leopards may be the dumbest decision, full stop, but I digress.

Then that makes it good. If it was in the tech tree, people would be forced to grind through it despite it not having a lineup. It being a squadron vehicle means you aren’t forced to grind through a lineupless vehicle.

Squadron vehicles can be obtained by researching them and even ignoring that, this is the RCV variant of the CTWV. Its sister CTWV variant, the ICV, still exists and ingame would be almost identical.

The JF-17 is insanely high BR, but this isn’t some groundbreaking thing. Okay, so it’s 13.3 and you can buy or research it. Yeah, it’s a touch crazy, but don’t act as if this is some entirely novel thing. Reminder than the F-20A was added at 12.0 when the top BR was 12.7.

What are you talking about? Yeah, it is one of the update’s headliners. But it’s not where the update got its name. It’s called the JF-17 Thunder. This update is called Dance of Dragons because it is more broadly themed around China and is in the year of the dragon, and because of, you know, the J10A Vigorous Dragon, a tech tree vehicle.

Everyone has disproved you on this already.

Usually every single subtree is added in 2 sequential updates one adding the air and the next adding ground (like Taiwan and Hungary). Not only has Gaijin not added the ground tree yet but they instead added a cv9035?? to the tree. Also why is that a good thing, people who already have the entire ground tree grinded and want to play in a vehicle at 10.0 (reminder the ONLY 10.0) now have to choose between WAITING THREE MONTHS to unlock it or to buy it with GE, and by then the rest of the BENELUX ground additions would most likely be added already… also if it was in the tech tree how would you be “forced” to grind through it when it would most likely be a end of line vehicle??? you wouldn’t be forced in the slightest to play “through” it. Squadron vehicles quite literally take almost 30x the time to grind out as a normal vehicle and are limited by not only squadron performance but by 20K/every 3 days. I know you are not comparing the F-20A to the JF-17. You are comparing something 2 br’s beneath the max on release that was mediocre at best versus quite literally one of the best planes currently in the game. You mean the JF17 fierce dragon? why do you think its dance of the dragons. Also I am willing to bet you this vehicle will not be moved up to 13.7 considering how Gaijin has treated squadron vehicles in the past (bmp2m, Object 122MT, T80U). No one has disproved this and the vehicle will almost 100% stay 13.3 with 4 fox 3’s and a very good flight performance.

Also you basically disproved your previous point by stating you’d be forced to to play through a lineup less vehicle, which Japan has in the form of the type16 at 9.7(the only 9.7). The RCV literally would have gave a lineup if put in the tree rather than a squadron you have to wait 3 months for…

No they’re not. Taiwan has been slowly sprinkled in throughout since China was added, and Hungarian air came 3 updates after ground. Hungarian ground was added in Sons of Attila, while the air branch was added in Alpha Strike.

It being the only 10.0 is the issue. Playing a vehicle without a lineup is hell because it is really rare for vehicles to be able to solo carry, and the CV9035NL certainly cannot.

Talking about the JF-17’s flight performance right now is pointless. It can literally glide on its side. Its flight model is not at all finished because this is the dev server. Nothing is final.

The FC-1 is the Fierce Dragon. The FC-1 is the Chinese service variant of it. the JF-17 is the Pakistani service variant and that is called the Thunder.

The BMP-2M did go up in BR, a lot, the Object 122MT “MC” is really good but not OP, and the Swedish T-80U is the same as the Soviet tech tree one because the Soviet TT one is itself the version that was trialed by Sweden. And no one can “disprove” the JF-17 staying at 13.3. We’re still on the damn dev server. Nothing is finished! I’ll make my judgement on the JF-17 when it actually comes to live.

To be clear, I agree that the RCV should be in the tree or that we should have gotten the tech tree ICV alongside the squadron RCV. But don’t act as if the RCV being a squadron vehicle forever leaves the Type 16 dry. Japan has limited options, but they aren’t that limited.

Fair enough, I will reserve judgement for when these things go to dev, but currently 3 squadrons in one update is quite ridiculous and especially considering importance to their respective trees

3 squadron vehicles is a lot. I fully agree. 3 in a single update is extremely surprising considering most times we barely get 1. But the only one I really have an issue with is the RCV. The RCV is fine as a squadron vehicle in a vacuum, but the ICV should have come in the tree.

Im very happy with JF-17.
It allows to play top tier without grinding the entire tech tree. I’m sure it will be a prove, that top tier air is not a very good place to be.
Imagine how much time and effort it will save me!

Might just the best worst take of the year, the addition of the JF-17 has set a new precedent for the future of war thunder, and a worrying one at that; With that being the fact that you now have the ability to play one of China’s top tier aircraft without even having to touch the tech tree, and given we only have a few viable jets anymore in the higher ranks (J-11/J-11A, J-10, J-8F and now JF-17) with the soon to be second best aircraft in the whole tree being a squadron vehicle!

Alongside the fact that there are still no restrictions on when you can research a top tier squadron vehicle (I believe you should have to reach rank 5 in a tech tree (similar to grinding helis) to unlock the ability to spend RP into a rank 6/7/8 squadron vehicle.

Good. Gatekeeping is bad; the easier access a larger percentage of the playerbase has to a wider selection of BRs/etc, the better. Always.

Especially when it’s a squadron vehicle, as they’re free.

In a magical ideal world, every single vehicle would be automatically unlocked for every player. As that’s obviously not viable for a free-to-play game (or most games, really), anything that gets us closer to that ideal is positive.

And this fundamentally destroys the goal of War Thunder, You can have the opinion that anyone should be able to play any vehicle at any time, but then no one would grind, the money would dry up and gaijin would go bust, enjoy playing War Thunder then
