Its still at 11.3 with aim9G’s (terrible and useless) and skyflashes (the worst radar missile at top tier)
Yet the American F4S is the same plane with slats, better heatseekers, MUCH better radar missiles and HMD.
Even with the aim9L, the f4JUK still wouldnt be as good as the US F4S, but gaijin still refuse to buff it, why?
USA gets special treatment as usual and yet again Britain are intentionally gimped. wow, what a huge suprise. Can one of you at Gaijin at least explain how you think aim-9G’s and Skyflashes are somehow better than aim-9H’s and aim-7F’s?
I mean, the J(UK) never used anything except 9Ls. They are actually breaking historical accuracy to make it worse than the tech tree phantoms. I have no idea why. Surely has nothing to do with the nation this premium happens to fall within.
It is curious that they havent been given any yet. My only conclusion other than that of the devs just not liking britain overly at the moment. Is that they are planning a BR decompression. With the F3, FGR2 and F-4J at the same RB BR, but with wildly different IR loadouts is strange. But if they were planning a BR decompression, with the FGR2 at a noticably lower rank than the F3, then the lack of 9Ls makes some limited sense. But if that does not change however, then the lack of 9Ls is felt, and you are right, it should have them on historical grounds.
Still, this plane has no aim9L’s. after grinding credits and event points with it over the past few days, I can safely say it is the most frustrating, boring, and terrible 11.3 aircraft in the game, and the only premium purchase I fully regret. Wow, I love having to use 10.0BR missiles vs 12.0 f16s and mig29s.
I’ll sell my event vehicles this summer and use the Gaijin coin to buy premium, then I wont be spending another penny on this game until this issue is fixed. Its beyond a joke at this point. All you have to do is give the plane aim9L’s, it carried them irl and even with those it will be far from the best plane at 11.3.
Any CCRP functionality. I dont actually have that jet, but thats a big complaint from a lot of SB community and the current phantoms. Especially the premium ones
It does certainly seem this thing could do with something better than the 9Gs. Whilst I can’t say I’ve played the Phantom F.3 (and that is exactly what I will refer to it as), I’ve played the FG.1 and that thing is not fun with 9Gs and Skyflashes. You can make it work, but it isn’t pretty. I understand there’s historical reasons for the FG.1 not to get the 9L, however the FGR.2 and especially the F.3 (given it was literally a post Falklands War measure, in which 9 Limas saw their first major combat debut) should have 9Ls. I get the argument that in a downtier it may start to get a bit unfair but most aircraft at 10.3 and above possess at least some flares.
IMO, I would like to see all Phantoms that has PD radar get all-aspect missiles and move up to higher BR like F-4EJ Kai. If some 11.3BR aircrafts moved up to higher BR, 10.3BR would be playable even more.
However, Is it possible to makes it higher BR when they gets AIM-9Ls? I mean would like the player to be able to choose between different Phantoms like the old F-2 Sabre, F-25 Sabre, F-40 Sabre, CL-13A Mk.5, each with different performance and armament while sitting in the same BR.
I’d be fine with that so long as our current 12.0s went up in BR. The main problem is their weapons fits for the most part completely swamp anything we have. And whilst yes it is in theory possible to beat F-16s, F-14s, etc etc in combat by doing something unexpected or capitalising on a mistake they make, it is extremely difficult and any situations in which you are required to do anything more than 1v1 become completely unachievable. Which is ridiculous, of course. You shouldn’t have to rely on an opponent being bad to win. You should be able to rely on your own experience and skill.
