HISTORY
The Krag Jørgensen is a rifle that was developed in Norway by field clothier and colonel Ole Herman Krag and corps boss maker Erik Jørgensen, It has been made many models of this in Norwegian service.
This rifle was adobted by Denmark, and USA, both of wich modified the rifle, the Danish modified the loading gate and made it in a new caliber 8x57 (7.92x57) and the americans modified it even more and made a new cartrigde for it called 30-40 Krag.
This rifle is a important piece of Norwegian history, and has served the Norwegian army from the late 1800’s and DFS-Det frivillige norske skyttervesen (The voluntary Norwegian shooting service) even durther, until today even.
This was also used during ww2 and the invasion, where among other things the germans, modified captured krag’s and changed calibre, sight’s, barrellengt amd much more
No separate model rifle was prepared for use at the factory in Steyr. Model gun no. 4 from Norway was used as a starting point. Two type rifles with serial numbers 4B and 5B were made at Steyr on order from the Norwegian authorities. These were to be typical examples of the rifles from Steyr for the Field Master Expedition and for KV

Short knife bayonet M/1894 was made for the M/1894 Krag Jørgensen rifle. The blade is straight and single-edged. It does not have hole grinding. The bayonets were originally delivered in bright steel, but they are also available in a blued version. This was possibly introduced later so that the bayonets would not flash in sunlight.
This is the short verison and were used on the M/1894 model, but could also be used on the newer model, and the other way around
