Steam - War Thunder Not Opening

Hello,

When I launch War Thunder via Steam, it will not go past the launch window (photo attached).

Nothing on my system has changed since. I reinstalled the game again, which helped for 1 launch, but the problem occurred again. I have performed the ‘verifying’ of files, which has not fixed the problem.

I am running out of ideas. I found some topics around the internet regarding the AntiCheat causing an issue, so I removed/ installed, etc, but this also did not fix the issue.

Are we able to see logs which might help in diagnosing what’s at fault? Any support or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Is it possible to support directly?

Do you select “Launch Warthunder” or “Play Warthunder”?

I just right-clicked on the Steam icon in the system tray and clicked on War Thunder, which is what I have used for years.

I was having issues with the steam edition a couple years ago so I switched to the downloaded client from gaijins website and never had a boot issue again

I login via Steam though so I do not think this would work for me. Correct me if I am wrong

You can link an email address to the steam account on the gaijin website and then you keep your save data.

I checked the ‘emaail binding’ but it shows the old, have you seen this option with the new UI (Player Card) section?

I’m having the same issue, recently started with nothing changed on my side. The first few times rebooting seemed to fix it and it launched, but no longer. I’m guessing it may have something to do with the new anti-cheat changes but haven’t been able to figure it out yet. Let me know if you do.

if you do a manual game update when you get given the launch options (can also find in the properties section for the game) then it should fix the problem, at least it did for me, couldnt say why it worked but it did
