“Stealth Duck” decal

In 1990 and 1991 Helicopter Combat Support Squadron Two (HC-2) was deployed to Persian Gulf, where it participated first in Operation Desert Shield and then in Operation Desert Storm. The squadron performed a variety of missions during deployment, including Search and Rescue (SAR), medical evacuations and mine searches.

One of the helicopters used by the HC-2 was SH-3G “Sea King”. One of them was SH-3G BuNo 151539. It was deployed with Detachment Two of the squadron which is also known as a “Duck Airlines”.

“Duck Airlines” had few unique names for its helis. It includes names like “Desert Duck” but today i will focus on heli named “Stealth Duck”.
“Stealth Duck” name can be seen on both landing gear sponsons. It was most likely painted at the start of its deployment to the Persian Gulf.

Judging by the photos of the “Stealth Duck”, it was used mainly in transport role. One of its tasks was delivering mail to US Navy ships.
Unfortunately I couldn’t find information about crew of this specific helicopter.
