Wait a minute, that photo looks as if the bow (or stern, I cant tell from the odd angle.) was never fitted. I cannot think a good reason to launch a ship without that.
There are just so many odd choices regarding this ship.
if you intend to use a hull it for it’s original purpose, sure
but the project was axed and it was decided the (unfinished) hull made for a nice target, so all it needed to do was not sink (prematurely)
fitting a bow/stern would have been a bit pointless, like a wig on a crash-test dummy

Yamato 2199 refit when? Or just give her her actual armour… or any armour… She is still missing 993 water tight compartments, hundreds of bilge pumps, 2 to 3 layers of armoured decks, shell rooms are at least one deck to high and her side armour is far too flat

wdym? 11mm armor on some areas under the frontal barbettes in the main armor belt should be enough no? otherwise it might actually not explode when angeld away from the soyuz at 16 km by its sap shells?

Impressive ship :) Impressive armament and design. Wow all these 45mm mounts. Fourty 25mm guns. And yes, see these triple turrets with high velocity guns, granting battleship firepower. Yes, yes. Even a convincing naval carreer as target ship, as construction was aborted.
