Staghound Mk I

+1 for adding to UK TT, and for US Premium as the T17E1.

With almost 3000 received by Britain Staghound was a very popular and capable recce vehicle, basically a Stuart with wheels, which served into the 1950s.

Interesting points;

  • US 37mm
  • 5 man crew
  • 44mm armour (on the turret?)
  • several variants with different armament viable as premium/event vehicles

The Americans can get the deerhound, as they actually operated that one T17 Deerhound - Wikipedia

America is in not hardship for armoured car designs mind, there are some really cool ones like the wolfhound :)

i know im late to the party, but this would make low tier Great Britain much more fun and diverse. I would love it

It would be great for both Britain and the US tech tree. I would hope to see it in the tech tree for Britain at the least.

Why should the US tree get it? They didn’t use it.

I was thinking maybe in the US as an event or premium vehicle since they were the ones to develop the vehicle but Britain should get this as a tech tree vehicle since they are the ones to have used this. For sure, Britain should definitely get this vehicle in the future. US, 50/50. Also, sorry for the late reply back.

Big +1 from me, would love to have have this thing ingame and we basically got the job half way done with the SPAA variant ingame already

Such a good looking armoured car. Still don’t get how the AA variant can be in the TT for so long and yet we still haven’t gotten the proper thing.

It’s been 3206 days since the last British WW2 armoured car was added to the tech tree, with the Daimler Mk II on the 18th September 2017.

The neglect of British WW2 cars is second-to-none in-game.

Christ I knew it was bad but didn’t realise it was as bad as that. It’s not like any of them would be particularly difficult to implement either.

AEC Mk. III just re-arm the II and alter internal stowage. Mk. I would require some work to the hull but the Valentine turret is already there.

Similarly the Humber Mk. III and IV would share the majority of their models and just need altered stowage/armament.

Staghound just reuse the AA’s hull and for the Mk. III alter the Crusader’s turret.

The Coventry would need a bit more work too but even then the hull can be reused for the Mk. II.

But no, we need more T-72s instead.

Yep, some of them are very easy adds with pre-existing assets and like a morning of modelling work at most.

Unfortunately in gaijins view it is more appropriate to have British WW2 armoured car capabilities represented by a pair of one-off South African prototypes, instead of in-service British vehicles built by the hundreds/thousands.

I swear the developers are trolling when they don’t add slam dunk vehicles like this. Stormer 30 also comes to mind.

Wondered why this one wasn’t in the British tree yet

Even if it’s a bit vanilla gameplay-wise, it’s a very historically significant and well known vehicle that deserves representation.

+1 would be a fun tank to play. Can’t go wrong with a zippy rat with the 37mm with .50 cal syndrome
