Cause there’s no real place to put it in the tech tree, and it should be free to acquire?
Seems straight forward to me.
@Code_649
Su-34, a sidegrade to aircraft Soviets already have. Nice variety, but not ground breaking.
So what if F-15E gets cruise missiles? Why does it matter?
Also how is the F-15E Russian? Russia’s not the tech tree, Soviets are. I know you meant Su-34, but the teaser clearly showed F-15E dropping a cruise missile first.
USA already has the Mig-35 and Su-30 equivalent aircraft: F-15C MSIP II.
Soviets will never have anything more powerful than USA in War Thunder, and they haven’t since prior to F-4J’s implementation.
Please guys keep it tidy in here, let’s avoid any profanities and heated discussions (you know… Insults or provoking people that play other nations) It really leads to nothing but off-topic.
Hey i just pointed out double standards
yes i may have been i bit provocative, but someone needs to point it out somehow
Im fine with the F-117, in fact i always wanted it, however im just suprised that people only hate russian vehicles.
It’s a gimmick vehicle. They made it available to all by being freely unlockable without spending a penny and without having to grind through the entire US air tree, and you’re complaining?
Some interesting bit about the F-117A during the First Gulf War:
To prevent any Iraqi SAM system to even track the F-117s,the US launched a massive swarm of ADM-141 decoy missile in order to preemptively alert the radar sites and to better conduct SEAD operations before the F-117 struck their targets
The F-117 departed from the US and did a 19hrs non-stop flight in complete radio silence (except the only times they needed refueling in mid-air) to reach Baghdad
The F-117 was the only aircraft in the US Arsenal to had the IOC to carry and launch GBU-27 Paveway III Bunker-buster bomb. This limited availability of bunker-buster munitions prompted the US to develop the GBU-28 which is basically a reshaped 203-mm howitzer barrel filled with explosive and with fins in the back and a seeker in the front
I also think in the current state of the game it may only be of limited use for tank plinking in ground battles.
What would be interested to see is if they are visible to e.g. airfield defense SAM’s, especially in Sim. But considering that those Rolands can snipe you perfectly well already now without radar on, I’d guess not even that would be a viable way to use the Nighthawk.
I’ve said so before: WT really needs to get away from the WW2 style ground targets and implement point targets. So far there’s not much that makes a LGB better suited to engage any ground target in WT that a dumb bomb can not do and do better.
I think its cool that its coming into the the game, i just dont think its going to be all that great in current WT setting. Like the AC-130 gunship would be fun as all hell but i dont see it having a place to be effective. I could be wrong though and could be lots of fun to play. going to wait for the test server and give it a look.
I could imagine it to be something in Sim, but that would especially also need a completely new level of teamplay, away from all players being just competition for targets to really aid each other in various roles (in this case, really providing cover for those juicy, lumbering targets…).
