Spyder killed by APFSDS hits to the radar mast?

I’m not getting this, why should an APFSDS going through the radar mast instakill the Spyder? First I thought that the hit modeled an impact on the missile rack if the mast somehow aligned with it, but no, you take any APFSDS to the mast and SPYDER goes boom… Unless the IDF have started using nitroglycerine for their radar masts, why should poking a hole in a light sheet of metal several meters above the ground cause any hull damage, let alone catastrophic damage, to even a truck?

Am I missing something? The vehicle already is so-so with the low missile count and the radar guided missiles useful just to make the adversary waste chaff, but getting killed by a hole on a sheet of light metal well away from the crew makes no sense, IMHO.

You just got outskilled shouldve sideclimbed /s

That doesn’t changes that it makes no sense that a kinetic hit to the mast (not the missile rack) kills the vehicle.

Spoiler

Twas a joke, obviously hitting a radar mast with sabot shouldnt result in destruction of the vehicle

Ah but you see, it’s realismo because flimsy reasoning like “the dart does dump all of its energy into the super thin radar mast, overpenetration is a myth!”

That experience OP had would be what happens if hull break is allowed to come back.

Might be the the same logic that makes caterpillar threads inmune to APFSDS hits from the sides…

Penetrator meets 1200 mm of chemical equivalent protection? Goes through unbothered, instakills crew.

A 20 mm thick sheet of metal is hit sideways? You. Shall. Not. Pass!!
