Only the Chinese CS/SA5 got some love. Oh and Panstir got some buffs too. SPYDER and Tan-SAM kai got nothing.
Where’s my israeli bias :(
They took our I-Derby ER for “balancing purposes” and didn’t model the radar correctly.
At LEAST the python became smokeless after it was reported. But then again…
It still wobbles and still can’t hit helicopters with DIRCM. Bruh.
i have no idea why they just completely destroyed the spyder
Pretty sure it never had the er, the model was just a visual big and it was intended to have the sr all the time
why couldnt they add the multi-vehicle version of spyder??
This vehicle can carry the er, just didn’t get it for balance. the multiple vehicle spider imo would be worse because it would be easier to take out. This vehicle would be perfectly fine if it got the I derby er
I personally think it is not balance, but the fact there is no way of modeling dual pulse engine as of now, and instead of doing so they went the easy way.
Typical Gaijin fashion balance.
“The Spyder is hot garbage, but because it’s not overpowered it’s technically balanced”
- Gaijin probably.
They could simply make the motor burn for its average runtime. In the Pythons case that’s 80s (i.e the same as an AMRAAM)
yeah
It wouldn’t be the full dual pulse treatment, but it would be a start until they finally model one in game.
Python? 80s?
I think im in a wrong timeline.
so i read about the spyder AIO and it cant have a Derby-ER, basically what we need is the damn balanced python 5’s
AIO can have ER?
Thats next Israeli top tier SAM, while AIO gets either pushed down to 11.7 into nonexistent lineup, reducing vehicle into Gaijins favorite - grind speedbump - or new SAM will go 12.3+
Game is perfectly capable of modelling first stage and then second stage motor, or booster/sustainer if you want to call it that way. Derbys already are modeled that way, as are many medium ranged missiles in game.
Gaijin also reworked R-77-1 from their initial draft of “dual stage” into single stage, just with longer burn as part of buffs to make missile actually distinct from previous R-77. Therefore clinging to “muh realism” is fools errand.
Unless i missed a missile, what happens in game is that 2nd stage fires up just after the 1st ends, just like in real life. Dual pulse can enable the second stage whenever the missile system deems it correct, it is not limited to ingition instantly after the 1st ends. That is the main difference.
Yes, in game second stage is ignited instantly as first stage ends. AFAIK game engine/missile framework doesn’t have capability of modeling delayed second stage ignition. Well, it might be possible by adding third stage and making second “silent” ie no smoke, no thrust, just “burn” for x seconds. However without rework I don’t think it can have dynamic ignition time based on guidance parameters.
Which might be another reason for “ahistorical” R-77-1 configuration, just make it “good enough” and call it a day. Which isn’t all that outlandish, looking at how “IIR” or “IR/UV” seekers ended.
either im kind of dumb or whatever, but i think they just buffed the maneuverability of python 5’s, i hit a target from 0.8 KM with a python, before that it could only hit targets from 1 KM
they didnt buff anything it just depends on the aspect and the direction they are going
in short you got lucky
