SPYDER - General Discussion

It also surprises me considering that the Chilean subtrees are the most voted haha, I still don’t understand what criteria is used to pass or not some suggestions to the developers, sometimes I think that the votes are useless

Just asking can anyone confirm with sources of any sort that P-5 uses sapphire as seeker window?

Not a sub Isreal used both the Cromwell and Comet they have them on display at an arms museum

Also I am acutely aware of the existence of the KH38ML I use the term FakeH38 to denote the MT but seeing as gaijin always rolls out buffs for the KH38s globally (as in all of them receive the buff) it still fits. Personally on that front I’m waiting for thr day we get the Sufá and Popeyes. That will be a wonderful day. RAMPAGE would also be nice

Now observe Gaijin somehow making Sufa even fatter 16D block 40, while Popeye will be reskin to a Maverick.

Actually Sufa being sidegrade to F-16C bl50 except maybe radar/missile kit doesn’t sound so outlandish - F110-GE-129 peaks at 16200kgf of thrust , while F100-PW-229, Strike Eggle engine peaks at 17000kgf on sea level. In return Sufa is going to be even heavier than block 50, bringing it back to square one and it will be carried by, my guess, Pythons 4 and maybe Derpy ER.

Sufa can also carry advanced Aim-120 models, it doesnt stuck with Derby’s only.

Given how C5 panned out, I highly doubt any next AMRAAM or ARH missile will be meaningfully better than what we have right now.

If nothing else, Gaijin will want to preserve current telephone booth nature of ARB/GRB and extra reach hardly changes anything.

Sufa is meant to carry everything that is air capable that Israel has, so yea

I’d only really add it once more advanced weapons come. F-16B ACE can just be a platform to carry Python 4’s, Popeyes and all the things it was presented with

Sadly that’s kind of what it is. It has a less powerful engine while also having a higher weight.

Orrr they can just add it to current Barak family and F15I.

Python-4 should’ve been added already.

Its not.

Sufa has insanely powerful engine.

It has the 229, the same engine as on the Ra’am, which is weaker then the one of the Barack IIs funnily enough. Go check ingame if you don’t believe me. I had the same misconception myself until someone pointed that out

Bruh.

Barak II’s engine is worse than Block-50 while Suva’s engine is more powerful than Block-50’s one.

You’re heavily misunderstood it.

I’ve checked few posts before and PW229 is marginally stronger in F-15E/I airframe than GE129 in F-16. However it likely does not make up for weight increase compared to block 50.

What Xray shows you is stationary thrust ie aircraft is anchored to the ground, the moment you add ram air intake from aircraft moving forward, things start looking very different.

Doing some mental gymnastics so bear with me:
Two aircraft sporting the same engines - F-100-PW-220, used by F-16A and F-15C, tested in clean condition + min fuel.

F-16A have:
anchored thrust of 9000kgf
peak thrust of 15100kgf at 1.15mach at sea level
1.68 increase

F-15C have:
anchored thrust of 8410kgf
peak thrust of 14200kgf at 1.15mach at sea level
1.69 increase

Difference in thrust between F-15 and F-16 airframe is 6% in favor of the F-16

So, if 229 engines in F-15I peak at 17000kgf at 1.15mach at sea level, it could be assumed Sufa will produce 17000*1.06=18077kgf

Further increasing gap to F-16C block 50, but weight increase likely more than “compensates”.

Why I have feeling Sufa will be squadron or event vehicle?

no single seat variant of sufa?

What in the world makes you say that? The strongest F-16 in the IAF in terms of ordinance and armament? Not only is it a staple of the IAF service F-16s, but it would be way to strong to be there. There’s better foreign options for that

Can we get back on topic of the spyder?

Why is there still no aa fixes today

No I do know that, it’s just they are finally adding a little variety in the lower tiers hopefully is what I’m saying. Grateful it’s not another magach

Because you don’t fix what is working as intended?
