Correct,
IRIS-T SLS has no DL
only IRIST SLM has DL
Ok fair but still there is the 9x assram too if im not mistaken
And python 5 was made with bvr in mind too so
my point is considering the facts the p5 is probably cpable of dl and should recive it for balance purposes until it will be proved otherwise
Also the p5 should have the ability to search the sky for a target but bcuz we dont have it in the game it should recive dl anyway until gaijin will model it
That’s not how things work in this game.
Here you could have stuff missing, that you can even see on a model and be obvious, but without sources they won’t get added.
Thats depends if gaijin likes the nation or not
SR, as well as MR can take them
It is most likely the datalink communication between the missiles, as it’s under operational performance tab, which talks about capabilities and whatnot. It would only make sense
But it does not have to be about the communication with the missile they could talk aswell about the ability of placing the command vehicle and lauch vehicle in some distance to another and that they could communicate via DL. This would fall also under operational performance. The only thing i’m pretty sure is that the Phyton 5 has no DL so even the spyder haveing DL would not help the lack of perfromance on the Phyton 5
So that gives us confirmation that the missile has LOAL, and that it can obtain pre launch data, as well that it has IOG.
the wording strongly implies it has datalink
Where? Unless it was lost in the translation.
“The Python-5 on the other hand, can be launched even before the missile’s homing head has managed to acquire the target. In this case, the missile receives information about the target’s location from other sensors installed on the launching aircraft or other platforms”
the “in this case” in the context effectively says “when the missile has already been launched”
similiar thing in hebrew
That still could be very much pre launch data. That will not hold up well if you try to pass it to Gaijin.
And they do not mention for example that target is updated mid flight, just that the missile is going to it, and that the seeker is scanning the sky searching for it. Once it locates it, it locks. If it had DL there would be no need to search for it, there would be no locating it, as the position would be known, just locking it when it gets close.
405
Its probably a new upgrade cuz the early sr used to take only p4 and derby sr
SPYDER-SR also used Python 5 early on. There was one seen way back then in 2005 when Python 5 was revealed including the SPYDER-SR
Funny thing as I’m testing Derpys in custom battle against bot recon aircraft on Vietnam EC map, if you launch Derby with significant altitude advantage over target, missile forgets to loft and flies straight at it. And with such “feature” missile timeouts long before reaching target even if it was launched within radar range estimates.
But if you lower altitude difference to within 2km, missile lofts as expected and domes target at the edge of radar range estimate, while missile launched just outside of that estimates timeouts as expected just before impact, despite having decent (0.94mach) energy state.
AMRAAMs also forgor about loft in the same scenario and timeout before impact. Quick ARB game, with missile launched against low flyers also confirms lack of loft so we might have a feature.
I didnt rly understood ur point here
Also subsonic isnt decent for a missile
In this speed it cant hit a manuvering target
No missile will hit maneuvering target at range in first place.
Entire “BVR” as its in game is paid actor/bot/afk check.
No its not
120 r77-1 aam4 can defenitly hit manuvering target even after 30 and maybe 40 km
If target maneuvers, it can also notch, F-pole and/or go cold, rendering all three inert.
I’m not saying Derby is the best BVR thing since sliced bread, but that disfunctionality is of limited impact in context of your average ARB clusterfuck or sniping off AI target(s) in Air Sim.
MICA is even worse when it comes to BVR yet its by far the best missile in game in practice.
High drag becomes even bigger issue for ground launched Derby and unless Derby ER made by Gaijin addresses that, extra thrust will likely have limited effect. Which might happen, as 77-1 with its rework from dev hell->live lost two stage motor all/most available sources states it has and got air drag reduction.
