SPYDER - General Discussion

I suspect Gaijin added SPICEs to F-16s only because they were lacking any standoff ordnance.

Then SPICEs act like any other TV/IR guided bomb, you can’t drop them without LoS nor you can drop multiple in quick succession

This thing is huge
It confirmed the p5 has 15km range ground lunched and derby 20km

playing like fnaf, check the top left to see if SAM is ready (seeker always on so if it sees anything it will say)
check radar screen to see what it is, and its speed
go to third person to check its direction and heading
go to toplite™ view and check if it is actually there with thermals

watch gaijin “not a bug”

It looked like it was sticking up quite a bit lol

I dropped all 4 at different targets and they hit them all just fine but you need to lock them first, I like how you can drop one using gps then aquire a target afterwards.

Thats my point. Regular GNSS or even Laser+IOG/GNSS ordnance you can fire via minimap marker, without achieving LoS.

If your not on flat ground or on a decline you can’t launched spikes

i have tested them pythons against bots, they seem to reach even 30+g in pulses, but the wiggle problem is even worse

Community Bug Reporting System Also reported here if u wanna click i have the same issue

Instead they will happily introduce 3min delay between moving and getting launcher up.

Second, 15km Python 5 range might be already possible, as in when you lob one as ballistic missile. 20km Derby also should be doable that way. After all its “maximum” not “no escape zone”

i tested it a little, python loses too much energy and just falls off at 12 kilometers

Python is subsonic at 6.5km, Derby is subsonic at 10km

At the moment I recommend to use only the I-Derby SR since it seems to be the only missile working and tracking, and Python 5 loses the target very easily, and even when it doesn’t, Usually it won’t have enough energy regardless even at 5km

Python is only useable from 3 to 7km in a head on, derby at longer range against high alt enemies

Is anyone getting some funky experiences with the radar just having mass drift on basic targets coming in. surely this radar isnt that bad when others (older ones) are better at keeping track of targets

Yes, it has ghost targets and keeps losing track
Also doesnt properly track targets

amazing, somehow they scuff Israel’s only SAM lmao

I think the main problem is the fact that only one beam out of 4 might be considered a true one, that interacts correctly with the game. The rest of them might no, so they update tracks that do not exist untill the true beam gets there, and that takes time, as due to 4 beams being implemented gaijin made the rpm slow.
