Jackpot. After digging more than enough, I might have found the early 2005 SPYDER shown in Paris Air Show 2005, where multiple sources, including the image sources themself say that it has Python 4. Theres lots of sources talking about the Python 4 being carried on early SPYDER systems, but this should solidify it
Also I managed to find an image of the Georgian SPYDER-SR mounted on a Roman 6x6 truck, who shot down a aircraft in 2008 with a Python 4)
This means that the SPYDER, that is if it’s the SR variant, could perhaps come sooner with Python 4 and I-Derby

That would be depressing. Cause Python 5 is the only IR missile that can actually threaten F-15E, Su-30, Rafale, etc to my knowledge.
A Python 4 SPYDER could very well be about as useful as Pantsir or worse… ITO-90M.
Granted, I don’t know Python 4’s ground-launched range, so my post is just speculating.
The Python 4 and Python 5 are the same with range. Only difference between the both is that the Python 5 has a way better seeker, a IIR one to be specific, so it would infact easier to implement (so that a long wait isn’t needed)
Also I’m not sure if it will be depressing, as Python 4 uses a dual band seeker as far as I know, the ones found on Stingers and whatnot
If true that might be tolerable, but I do still have my concerns.
Especially if the Python 4 is “easily defeated” within its range.
One of the issues in say Pantsir’s case is when a Typhoon engages a tank the Typhoon can just dodge every Pantsir missile.
In Python 4’s case… flaring correctly.
Either way I want the most potent version of the IR SPYDER cause without it I fear we’re just waiting again. Though I guess vs helicopters Python 4 would be cracked at the least.
Main issue with the Python 4 will be helicopters and the devs having no understanding of their heat signature so it will have a comically short range

There is a version with booster but im in doubt gaijin wont just cp the missile and leave it like that
What lacked was photographic proof. People usually just said it without any backup sources, and now we have photos

No python 5 has more range and speed (mach 4+) and 20km+ with the ability to bvr (was claimed by the iaf) that is due to improve drag and thrust adjusting
Python 4 have 15km range and mach 3.5 max speed (some sources says it can reach mach 4 in perfect condition but u get the point)
