I mean, I don’t expect it to protect me against AGM-65s much less KH-38s but come on, it struggles with helicopter laser guided munitions (I know I can smoke but if I have it, it’s best to use it). I usually have to point the dispenser to the helicopter for it to do something. I have stopped more ATGMs with smoke rather than with the APS.

So… I was now thinking, leaving aside all the bias things, if they added the SPYDER (whichever version), would the missiles lock onto enemy helicopters? Radar missiles would be kind of hard as they usually stay close to the ground but the same goes for IR missiles and IRCM, I’m talking about the russian IRCM, I can’t lock onto a Ka-50/52 with my AIM-9Ms from 2 kilometers of distance with my F-15 so I wonder if the Pythons would be able to do so? Unless they add the LOAL function on them, but I don’t know how it works at all.
The python 4 has stinger level seeker(gaijin will probably cp the stats) so idk if it will be enough
Python 5 is diffrent cenerio but idk if they will add that

P4 and derby with booster should be perfect
So there’s no remedy for IRCM targets? Might just be that I’m dumb and can’t lock on them.
The Python 5 irl has 2 more km of range than the R-27ET in-game. They could just tweak the range of it and it would just be the equivalent of the ET but just better performance.
P5 is very clasified we know only that it has 20km+ range and can bvr due to thrust adjusting and some secret tech to reduce drag

Well just gotta take on what we know to get anything. I mean there gotta be a few things in war thunder that are implemented with half of the stuff is known while the other half of it is still classified

My best guess is that we are getting the AIO Spyder ER so that we at least get a search radar.
Or the 2005 SPYDER-SR with a EL/M-2106 NG radar, Python 4 and Derby

I don’t see any reason to add the Python-4 equipped variant when all the others will have imaging seekers (i am not knowledgeable enough to know if they also use datalink like the python 5 but I wouldn’t doubt it)
Also don’t see a reason why it should be the SR with only a quad launcher when the chinese SPAA gets 8 + a gun

i agree with this its just stupid its like suggesting to be overclassed because we wanted that way when there is no reason to add less than a Python-5 having an IRIS-T and probably the SLAMRAAM with 9Xs and AMRAAMs “hey gaijin just hear me out dont add the Python-5 the 4 is great against an IRIS-T, we dont need something equal we are fine this way” bro its sounds so fkn dumb lmao.

Yea but the thing is that gaijin makes up stuff thats clasified for balance but in israel they make it the worse as possible
