a very long and off-topic way of saying spo5slavokyyni is ONLY good in rb mode of this particular game and no where else ever. agreed for various real and artificial reasons, there is merit to that. any where else guess how many AP 155mm 200mm shell salvos it can take before all vladimirs on board become validmired? hint: 4 is possibly not enough and 6 is overkill.
You’ve literally never played it, how do you know it’s so bad?
i have fought against it. takes about 5 salvos everytime
Okay. Do you know how many it takes to kill a Moffett? 1. Doesn’t even have to be a cruiser. A 4.0 destroyer can 1 shot the Moffett easily, reliably, and repeatably. A 3.3 destroyer can 1 shot a Moffett easily. Clearly Moffett should be 3.0 then.
I asked how you know it’s so bad, not how many salvoes it takes you to kill it in a ship of a different type and a substantially higher BR.
I guess you don’t’ really play naval much at all then - Spokoinyy is a very good ship and fully deserves to be at 5.0
And there it is - delusion on a grand scale.
Piling arrant nonsense on top of regular nonsense is your strong suit I see.
moffett also dies in about 5 salvos to cruisers, but it’s a glass cannon, it’s firepower and reload is impressive warranting its higher br, getting targeted by moffett is concerning to a cruiser. never have felt threatened getting targeted by spo5slavoinyy, the dread is all for spo5salvoiny’s player.
Moffett will explode if you breathe under its rear turrets. I have literally never been ammoracked in Spokoinyy. You’re just talking out your ass now, you literally have no idea about anything related to naval.
it was expected of you getting illogical and buthurt about it at some point, we are finally at that point. if i claimed spo5salvoiny can be ammo racked then i wouldn’t call it a spo5salvoiny, that would be a spo1salvoiny. again good for you doing great in spo5slavoiny in rb mode in war thunder. it takes 5 salvos everywhere else. even with all the biased artificial help it gets so ussr tree can have something filling up the mid rank of their second line it still gets blown out of the water at 5.0. you only can polish a turd so much. i clap for you taking advantage of it’s artificial buffs, but this thread exist because many still can’t find success with 5salvoiny in the first place.
Again, you have no idea what you’re talking about.
I thought you were calling it such nonsense because nonsense is all you know.
So is it good or is it bad? Make up your mind.
Literally two people, one of which has never even touched the ship. I don’t know if you understand what the word “many” means.
Yesterday I took out my French DD’s for the first time in ages - they blow up US 5.0 DD’s too - really not looking forward to them being upgraded tho!!
lul it just went up to 6.3 BB territory rip luke. use other navies.
How do you deal with cruisers then? I just started using my Spokoinyy I unlocked and love it because I think it’s such a cool ship but I constantly face hordes of Cleveland’s and Southamptons and have no idea what to do. I’ve tried aiming for ammo on those things but their armour is just so thick it seems to block any aimed shots at the turrets or ammo, and their ammo also seems to be stored under the belt exclusively so trying to ammo detonate them, I still have yet to do it. Any help would be much appreciated.
Positioning and timing. In a full uptier in a destroyer, you do not want to be out in the open if you can avoid it, and you do not want to be the center of attention. Ideally, you do not want to engage a cruiser, but if you do, make sure you’re not the biggest (or only) threat to them.
One of the first things you want to do is generally turn away if they take notice of you though and begin kiting. In my experience, people rarely kite and many do not know how to properly lead a ship that is moving away from them. Additionally, many players will turn broadside to you, so you can put distance on them in a hurry, and if they do give chase, they only have a reduced amount of damage output. Plus you’re still gonna be faster in a Pr. 56.
Next is knowing that most fights against cruisers are going to be protracted engagements. Without proper AP shells, getting an ammorack is not really possible against a ship with actual armor. Don’t sail in a straight line, and use the ship’s excellent firing arcs and 360° turret traverse to be constantly bobbing and weaving while you shoot, and just chip them down.
Ok so that’s similar to what I’ve been trying to do then. Generally I find an island or something where I can move around to avoid things like that. It’s tricky though in the open maps since most games I see at least 5 Cleveland’s on mine and the enemies teams. I imagine playing ring around the rosy with cruisers will be much easier once I’m spared and have actually good acceleration. The main problem I find however is the only soft targets I seems to face tend to be the bots in funny ships like groza’s and Yenots which are absurdly easy to deal with but when real players come around in a southamptons unless I have an escape route it’s just death. I heard the Spokoinyy has high pen sap but looking at the 5.7-6.0 cruisers their belts seem to all armour thick enough to just stop my rounds, is there any trick to knocking them out or is it actually just hope for a good torpedo and run.
Yeah, it’s all map dependent. If you spawn on one of those maps which have no cover and all the cruisers and DDs spawn together, the best way I’ve found to survive is to just not shoot. Don’t draw attention to yourself, and turn away from the fight. Most of the time you’ll make it out with minimal damage because many players will tunnel vision on things that are shooting them. Once in hard cover you have more room to work, just be aware of ships that might be approaching.
As far as dealing damage to those heavily armored light cruisers, focus on disabling stuff like their secondaries and other modules over going for compartment damage. Cleveland especially is a very well protected ship and you have to kill it through crew loss as they repair. A good player won’t repair that damage, but most players aren’t good. And again, being in a good position is important, you need an escape route.
