We clearly need a special air spawn for CAS like A-10, SU-25, AMX, Alpha Jet; since those planes are terribly slow at high BR in big maps.
Most of my matches on those planes finalizes when I’ve only covered 1/4 of the map and still very far from the Ground NPC area.
The special spawn should be at least between 12-10 km away from the battlefield.
That is the lest GAIJIN should do since they cannot create a unique game mode for CAS.
Or give us the option to play in a lower BR where matches the speed and ground payload but banning the use of AAMs.
For example: A-10 max speed is 650 km/h (slower than a YaK-15) if you active that option you will play at 7.0 but you will not be able to use AAMs and AGMs, only unguided weapons.
i’m against the idea, most of the time, flying those aircrafts in ARB is challenging, but it’s also a choice made.
you have already better AA Weaponary on-board such aircrafts, and flight model (for most) aren’t terrible to the point your useless AA wise.
unrealistic for gaijin to ever allow that.
Yak-15 got like 1 or 2x 23mm guns with 60 to 120 rounds and barely reach their max speed already.
A-10 would got 30 with more than 1000 rounds, and easily reach the 650km/h, as it also take much more than Yak-15 in dives:
(VNE is maxspeed in dives)
you’ll be playing with speed, that you got much better than Yak-15’s
in a minute you go from 200km/h to 680km/h while the Yak-15 is 100km/h behind.
in the long-term only you can’t outrun the Yak-15, but it’s easy to create 3.5km separations
aswell you can’t outturn the Yak-15 (still a Yak-9 platform after all)
and even if the Yak-15 got much better top speed in every alitude, the fact that A-10 gain more speed than Yak-15 will simply profits the A-10, to create Head-on’s situations at every 3.5km seperation (which would be easily made), in which tankiness and weaponary count much more.
(and in favor of A-10)
Well, it was a quick example, but the YaK-15 can easily outturn A-10 and with a lucky/precise shot can cripple the A-10 engine or/and tail, compromising the A-10.
Is like the premium I-15 that is at 2.7, I-15 is so slow when facing 3.7 prop planes and most of the time it faces P-39s which are one of the fastest prop planes, I’ve played the premium I-15 with the 20mm and I have shot down P-39 in quick turns.
Even if the A-10 got that 30 mm it won’t matter if it cannot be used properly; I’ve been in both sides of the head-on, being the A-10 and being the attacker, and 70% of the times I win the head-on against the A-10.
Well, GAIJIN matchmaking has never been realistic at all.
But maybe be between 7.3 - 8.3 with the limitation I’ve described.
i explained the whole thinking on how the A-10 is going to shred Yak-15
of course the Yak-15 can be lucky, but it’s still going to chase down an aircraft that can bleed your energy then extend away to come back in head-on from 3.5km, and with enough nose authority to make it count.
not much difference and YaK-15 is known to have slow acceleration even among his peers, but at 7.3 will face MiG-15, F-86, venoms, meteors; all of them with better acceleration, faster and all of them outturn A-10
catch me in 290 seconds.
and that’s considering we’re going in the same direction at the start.
you’ll be likely to be in head-on at the first encounter, and as such you’ll deploy energy to turn in behind me, and i’ll have my full speed to create a gap in order to propose you another head-on.
That is just speculation, the only way to find out is in an actual duel. I’m not at home at the moment but in 3 hours we can create a custom battle and see once and for all
