A large part of the problem IMO is map design, so many maps either provide well protected flanking routes straight to spawns (Alaskan city, along the side of the lake for example), camping spots looking straight into spawns (Carpathians being one of the worst with the ruins on the hill looking straight into the south spawns) or cap points that force you to either push into the enemy spawn or get shot in the sides or back if you try to go anywhere else (eg. C point on Japan where you have to turn your back on the enemy spawn to go to any other point on the map).
Tiny maps yes, that is an issue along with some having almost clear line of sight to the enemy spawn from your spawn. As far as needing it the most, I would say early game yes but late game majority of the time their entire team will proxy camp your spawn until spawn protection is removed. This prolongs the game for everyone and unless someone rushes into spawn for you to spawn and get a kill everyone will just wait for you to leave an inch of spawn. Late game spawn protection doesn’t help and at top tier most players know to wait and then pop up.
Spawn delays are common in a lot of games to give the enemy who wiped you some time of recovery and let the individual taken out take a sec before rushing. If someone can’t wait to respawn and leaves the match I doubt they were going to be any help regardless other than attempting to rush the same tank that killed them 3 secs ago. At top tier, 3 sec mobility wise is a massive difference then moving at lower BRs. As most people are saying map design, BR levels of maps would make a difference too. But with what we currently have a spawn delay would be as effective.
lmao you want to spawn camp easier. There’s enough map abusing filth already
lol no
COD brained
Spawn camping, regardless of how you view, is part of any game. So yes, late game you are going to get spawned camp after a team steamrolls the other. This has to do with A. Prolonging an already lost game for users. B. Spawn protection at the end of the game provides no value. As soon as you move out of spawn most people will get, I can easily sit outside of spawn and have a standoff until you leave along with the rest of the team.
Is COD brain supposed to be an insult? A lot of games use it and yes, it’s okay for games to use tried and proven game mechanics from other games.
better idea: permanent protection in spawn area against ground vehicles. And other solutions.
And gaijin finally need to fix the map design because some maps are catering to spawn campers, even early and mid game
other games don’t have you take ages to get back in the fight. Apples and oranges.
I hear you, but I dont think this will accomplish anything. The people who do this will inevitable just continue to do it, and you will harm the other players where waiting 10 seconds could be the difference between losing and de-capping a point just in time.
Thank you for sharing your idea, you can also vote on it in the polls if you like. At the end, permanent spawn protection will do nothing if people don’t leave spawn and can’t leave spawn. An even better idea is if all points are captured increasing the ticket loss is faster than it already is but add in permanent spawn protection. Can’t reward loser behavior late game if they’re just going to stay in spawn all game. But yes maps could definitely be worked on harder to do than asking for spawn fixes.
why
Loser behavior? Lmao you would make for a terrible game designer.
Making matches end even faster
Why what
If you are spawn camping, you dont deserve extra time to get back behind cover.
You get the advantage of camping spawn so there should be at least some risk to doing it.
You being bored from spawn camping isnt a very good reason we should make it harder for the other team to get score.
I think this delay you propose would be extremely frustrating to sit through, and wouldn’t force players to make smarter decisions. It would just make spawn camping even worse.
On the topic of SPAA, though, a solution is needed for players spawning SPAA right after dying to CAS. However, I don’t think the solution should be to implement a delay before spawning, as that would not change the fact that SPAA spawns in ready to kill.
A better solution would be the disabling of weaponry for SPAA specifically against aircraft and helicopters, for the first 10 seconds after spawning. This way, the SPAA player can gain situational awareness and search for targets without the pressure of needing to immediately revenge kill. CAS players can then have time to react to the threat, either detected visually or by RWR, and exit the danger zone. Then in the last 10 seconds of spawn protection (20s total), SPAA can shoot while invulnerable (same as currently) to address the issue of CAS spawn camping. Maybe even extend SPAA’s spawn protection to 25 seconds total to compensate for the firing time removed.
I guess what I’m saying by end of game most if not the entire team is already proxy camping your spawn. Let’s say you spawn and get 2 tanks good! The problem is because the entire team is already there those two will spawn and immediately be back spawn camping you. So spawn protection late game or when most of your team is gone is a lose lose in war thunder being heavily team based. I’m not speaking in the beginning and yes I am all for spawn protection but making maps bigger and map design I feel will still not fix the top tier issue lower tiers are fine since tanks are slow if you get a couple with spawn protection you have time to leave and spawn again to push the enemy back, maybe, at top tier proxy spawn camping can extend the game by 10 or 15 mins especially if you’re playing protect the objective.
Spawn delay by tank type sounds good. Helps the impatient ones play tanks instead of immediately jumping to SPAA.
Every game there are winners and there are losers 🤷. Most, if not all, games already milk money from gamers by using this to their advantage by either making the grind harder without using money (premium accounts) or releasing META’s behind paywalls. In fact, very little Competitive games don’t do this now a days.
