Spall liners vs APHE

How would APHE do in the presence of spall liners, especially after the potential rework?

So the APHE explods after penning armor so that means spall liner does not really stop it.

What if it is really thick, cause I mean IRL since in WT it is one module and disappears after impact, if it is a thick layer then it should explode inside the spall liner?
I’m asking cause PLZ05 which is like probably 8.0 has spall liners.

Still doesn’t matter, in-game, spall liners doesn’t have specific thickness. And considering it’s a pretty light vehicle and Gaijin implementing spall liners in huge segments, makes it very useless against a second shot in the same place if it doesn’t hit directly the ammo in the first one.

And naturally spall liners are a thin layer of “extra armor”, if you make it more thick, it would just be labeled as spaced armor, like the Kpz. 70, OF-40 and others.

It wouldn’t matter.

The spall liner is designed to keep spall (stuff from the resulting penetration/parts of the penetrator) from flying around the crew space.

If a shell explodes in, or after passing through the spall liner. It will either do nothing, or go flying like the spall it was supposed to stop.

If you have an APHE detonation inside the crew the space, it’s all over.

APHE fragments. Spalling are armor fragments that get dislodged by the shell penetrating the plate.
