And the capabilities of the Strela 10 to overload intercepted targets in the game are greatly exaggerated; the army manual directly states that the overload of intercepted targets does not exceed 3-5G. (~17G missile)
I even created a bug report about the excessively high maneuverability of the Strela 10M2 missiles, but they found a person who claimed that the 9M37M has an overload of 40(!)G, which is practically impossible or possible only in the first kilometer of flight and a rapid drop in overload to 17G further on.
I don’t see any documents with 40G that he provided, maybe he is a front agent of the Gaijins who is breaking the balance in favor of Russia/USSR.
That’s the problem, I haven’t seen any figures on the Internet yet, let alone documents, that claim the 9M37(M) has a 40G overload. Considering that the interception is declared to be a maximum of 5G, 40G is impossible for the missile.
Why 17? In order for a missile to intercept a target, it has to pull 2,5-3x the G the target pulls. So if it does max 5, then 15G is the value you are looking for.
Yes, I know about the three-fold rule, I just took it with a margin.
By the way, an interesting fact: the 9M39 Igla can intercept targets with a maneuver of 6-8G when the rocket itself is overloaded by 10G.
Perhaps the autopilot guidance method (electronic circuit) and the aerodynamic design of the rocket play a role.
