It has nothing to do with personal SPAA hatred. A 70sp vehicle being stronger than both 100sp and 700sp vehicles is just simply bad for game balance. It’s not bias, it’d just common sense.
Afaik, mim-146 just simply sucks, so nerfing it would unnecessary.
if it’s a XM800T, a Luchs, a Marder or any other fast light tank with a heavy cannon, i accept it.
but using a SPAA like a Tank Destroyer isn’t just fair, but also illogical if we talk about roles getting respected in WT
SPAA = anti-air vehicle
MBT = anti-tank vehicle
u can’t just use a fast SPAA with rapid-fire cannons to shred tanks cuz its awful
its like using the BMD-4M for getting nukes in the first 3min of match
Just to entertain the thought but if we dropped Aircraft SP to like 300 and moved down every spaa like 1-3 br’s (Removing APDS rounds and such) Think that would be more or less better?
It basically makes the game an actual combined arms mode at that point and gives reason to spawn spaa first. (Though i imagine it would turn out like custom missions lol.)
You missed the AMX-30 DCA, which has way more APDS ammo then the 35mm KDA armed SPAAG’s.
they are limited to 40 rounds (20 per gun), while their AP ammo can’t pen USSR style tanks from the side at any range (68mm doesn’t beat 80mm side armor).
Even APDS (35mm) has difficulty penning things from the front unless SPAAG / or LT / IFV.
The only way these can kill with certainty is by flanking and then YOU messed up. the ammo storage is HUGE on these vehicles and will go sky high with a single touch. Had my Gepard detonated with only 40 rounds total left so storage was mostly empty.
Confining them to a defined area, will make them useless for their role, as their effective range is limited.
CAS has a decisive advantage over SPAAG, since SPAAG FCS isn’t modelled in game, while for CAS ballistic computers and other ordnance is available. Canon SPAAG were designed to counter helicopters and very low flying strike aircraft. When something enters the effective zone of a Gepard, it’s going to have a very bad day.
to close: the APDS rounds were always for self defense, that’s why they have the limited amount. which the XM and SA-35 don’t even have
Well neither should BMP-2s and XM800T running around tanks then. They should sit at the back line or supporting infantry. Also Artillery things should sit 20km from front and not at the frontline.
This is a game, get over yourself.
