They would be more lethal if they were realistic. Constant stream of HE shells would fry the optics and FCS. A T-90 if hit repeatedly by 25mm HE shells would have its FCS broken and turret spin endlessly.
Can anyone from Gaijin or with some common sense why it was moved up to 7.0 instead of 7.3?
I know it’s not widely available currently, but I’ll never understand moving a vehicle into a dead zone, where you can’t pair it with either another group of similar BR vehicles. Why not 6.7 or 7.3? Instead they do this, where it probably is to low for 6.7 but to high for 7.3.
So now to play it, you need to pair it with 7.3 vehicles or move up your 6.7 vehicles.
Heh balance? rarely exists in this game long ago.
I dont really have an issue. I can atleast have 3 7.0 lineup rather than 2x 7.3 premium one,as there isnt any other thing on 7.3 in TT except Wiesel 1A2 and Luchs which are both very underwhelming. Oh and i forgot the BP SPz 12-3 LGS is also 7.0 now,so can add that there instead of the Jagdtiger.
Yet it would solve every last “problem” SPAAG now AND prevent any new ones from becoming an issue, since now they would not be able to shred barrels of some tank they strolled out in front of suddenly.
Heavy armor would also finally have a real purpose even on the urban shoebox maps we’re stuck with - without barrel damage, the slow rolling pillboxes can become armored battering rams with working guns. SPGs and SPHs can still frontally punt them into next week, but now everyone and their cat can’t go frontally cripple the strongest heavy armor they could encounter with the weakest fully-uptiered gun.
I seriously fail to see what could go wrong with this. We have so many ways to curb heavy tank spam, and all the heavies with mobility can be frontally penetrated without needing to rely on barrel damage first (Tiger 1, M6 series, IS-1, IS-2, etc).
All APCR in the game is lacking in pen and postpen. The severe drop in angled pen already took into account the tendency of the round to break - there was no need to add extra shattering on top of that.
And frankly, with all the M44s and M55s now that most nations get, I really doubt the Jumbo would break much at 5.3.
The back of the pershings turret is 100mm thick and thats where i was penned somehow.
Then that has to do with the bug. You’re best off just not reversing (Or driving in general while being shot by SPAA, really) until it’s patched.
Moving, especially reversing, makes AP shells ignore armor.
