SPAA still not fixed?

SPAAs are still wrecking MBTs, has Gaijin said anything about this or is this intended?

Is SPAA the new cancer meta?

Maybe GRB with no planes AND not SPAA is the way this game needs to go.

Can’t beat them…join them is the old saying. Lots of SPAAs to counter them.

Cannot be nerfed without removing it’s defenses which are the AP rounds. And that’s already a no. Moving them to 10.0, 11.0, 12.0 won’t change a thing. They will always kill MBTs.

Also a thread already exist. Just revive the topic there lol

Defences? It’s a SPAA, it’s supposed to engage air targets. AP belts should be removed, no reason to have them against planes.

They historically have those ammo belts and used when needed. And no, their main priority is air, but when there is none, their secondary role are Anti-Tank or for Coastal defenses shooting small boats, against infantry etc…takes over. They have multiple roles than just for air. The more dedicated air are SAMs.

Historical be damned, it’s not fun fighting what are essentially BMP-2s on crack. Frontally 2-shoting a MBT doesn’t feel very historically accurate anyway.

What is to fix? It’s not the 20mm-30mm-40mm-57mm’s fault that your MBT has rubbish armour.

It certainly does. MBTs like the Leopard 1 were designed when they thought armour was useless.

Only thing that needs fixing is how you’re using your MBT.

There is a solution that is so simple that Gaijin has overlooked it for many years…

The rewards for shooting down an aircraft/helicopter must be at least as high as those for ground vehicles, or even higher…

Historically speaking, the Gepard’s armour-piercing ammunition was designed specifically to combat main battle tanks, infantry figthing vehicles and armoured personnel carriers in emergencies and was practised regularly.

SPAAs are not wrecking MBTs, players are.

If you’re being fragged by a player’s tactics, develop tactics to counter those tactics.

SPAA is not OP against tanks.

it can get removed, by having actually big hilly maps, where autocannons aren’t as op, as in the close quarter bs Gaijin is pushing for years

The game design (mostly small urban maps) leads to AA’s and IFV’s/APC’s etc being overproportinally good against mbt’s than irl.
And having that close should be a goal

Light vehicles are worse at closer range. All vehicles are, and MBTs with mobility are strongest.

MBTs can be killed by SPAAs but are relatively robust against them from the front.
If MBTs were the problem, we would have had this SPAA meta for a long time now, SPAAs have AP belts for as long as they exist.
The SPAA spam is only possible because there is enough paper armor on the battlefield at BRs 8.0 - 9.7, the SPAA meta basically emerged from the light tank meta.
