Sovetsky Soyuz: Red Oceans

if you think the soviet naval industry couldve undergone an improvement to double the thickness of producable armour plating in any reasonable amount of time to complete the Project 23s than that is maybe even more fictional than the ships representation in game.

A planned economy can make things worse in things like this.

About after war

However, the battleship of Project 23 was not included in the naval shipbuilding plan approved by the government decree of November 27, 1945.
This was primarily ensured by the leadership of the NKSP (People’s Commissariat of the Shipbuilding Industry), who feared that due to the complete lack of production of thick armor, as well as key components such as artillery, fire control systems, boilers, propeller shafts, etc., completing even a single battleship of Project 23 would become a difficult issue.

It was scraped after 1953.

Damn, I wonder in what year Stalin died and what consequences that could have had on all the unfeasible naval projects he started that could never have been finished, but everyone around him was too scared to tell him that?

Construction been frozen in 1943. Everyone included Stalin know that. Despite that there were designing of next types of ships but only in paper like all countries navy did after 1943.

No document needed, the thing didn’t exist.

If it were implemented realistically, it would be a floating barge with no engines and no guns. This is reality, and it is disapointing sometimes…

We wouldn’t even have this discussion if it looked balanced to an extent, which it will clearly not be because of the 420mm armor and the guns

Nah, y’all will. Just purely out of the fact that it unfinished battleship. Maybe without constant “But Soviets couldn’t make cemented plates greater than 200mm!” and constantly invoking Stalin’s name as if he’s some kind of Greater demon (maybe)

Well ok i can’t talk for the others

i personally don’t mind having a semi-fake soviet ship in the game, otherwise they’d be left with nothing.

The habit of Gaijin to go with the optimistic version is a bit annoying in the long run though

Cant argue about that. At least if it was universally applied (God, I would pay for “What if?” of Object 292)

People arguing that the soviets could have made the ship when we already have evidence showing they can barely build an aircraft carrier? What fantasy world are you guys living in where russia was ever a naval super power?

Add a realistic version if were going to have blueprint ships, then at least youll have less people complaining about it. Giving it THE best stats possible just makes it look like their hand holding the Russians yet again. ESPECIALLY when they normally take the worst stats. Like with starstreaks when it clearly states mach 3+ with some even saying mach 4 but gaijin have said they take the exact value and dont interpret it any more than that.

Not the most optimistic as shells are slower(could be 870m/s, which proved in test), and speed is not 29 knots, and hydroplane is older one that were considered on design.

Well, but not only Soyuz, it seems that even real ships on this update doesn’t get the most optimistic specs of them(exclude Richelieu)

Richelieu could have its APCBC go 830m/s if we go this way

so, every ship seems impacted indeed

Yes. Sad story.

What you all mean by that ?

I am playing first match with Soyuz now in dev server. I can say this thing is abnormally OP with SAP ammo.

Dude… you sealclubbed bunch of bots

Surprise, Surprise. Its a russian blueprint project without any reality limitations. It will dunk on every other ingame vessel. Won’t be fun. Alone its AP shells have more explosive filler than other nation’s (real) HE ones. Supercharged shots which would wear out every real existing barrel after just few shots. I guess barrel wear and service life mean nothing as long as the ship just exists as blueprint in Stalin’s personal design bureau^^

Super charged shot is 870 m/s. During testing, 173 shots were fired from a single barrel. Of these, 17 are super charged, the rest are ordinary (830 m/s). In game we have 830 m/s. Bursting charge is also accurate for AP and SAP. The was also HE shall.
