power to weight is bad,its heavy , radar is long range but besides that pretty bad , it eats fuel like no tomorrow, extremely hot engines, and now the outdated rwr , i get the feeling f14 is hunted more by enemys than other aircraft
acm mode is 9km range only
The F-14A is a solid 11.7 but that’s it, it’s on the same kinda level as the F-4EJ Kai and JA37D, a step below the F-16A and MiG-29A which is exactly where it should be.
na the space below the mig29 and f16 goas to the f14b which dosent change much in the AtA armament and radar, but still comes with allot qol improvements over its predecessor
but yea the f14a is pretty good at 11.7 if it wasn’t for the 12.3 planes
Extra CMs, AIM-9Ls and better engines pretty much put the F-14B on the same level as the F-16A, it’s just designed for a different role than the F-16s and MiG-29s.
