According to PRC - not. According to ROC - they are not PRC, but they are China. According to UN - there is only PRC. According to most states - there is only PRC.
FDR and DDR are two separate countries, which are effectively were at war with each other and used Soviet and US equipment for possible fight with eachother, yet they are in the same TT.

Yeah I get tired of all the people arguing it shouldn’t just because of the tension between South Korea and Japan, especially when you consider that as of late they’ve gotten a lot closer thanks too shared alliances and common security concerns

Oh I agree, I’m just saying the more you think about it, the more it becomes obvious that India would be another beginner/entry level tree for people to play, like China, as it has a nice mix of equipment. Instead it will be vultured apart, without logic, to service a UK tree that needs actually useful additions. Oh well, as least UK players will enjoy that “Indian” Strela M-10 at 9.3.

This is not the place for this debate, but lets put it this way. China is constantly threatening to invade Taiwan and conducts multiple military excercises to that affect. There is a high likelyhood for direct conflict between these nations in the near future. If they were the same country, or even on friendly terms then that would not be the case.
If I recall, there have been many times when China has reacted negatively to anyone implying that China and Taiwan (and previously Hong Kong) were different nations. (they are for the record)

The reason Taiwan is part of China in game is likely an attempt by Gaijin to avoid the mess/placate the Chinese government. Its a big market for them. Now if it was me, I’d have stayed out of it entirely, but China would be so totally outclassed in many areas, like in the Air tree, that htey need Western tech to be on par, so a Taiwanese F-16 was an easy fix.

With all due respect, and i’m aware I’m replying to you Morvan but there are others who wish to discuss this, could we please take the political element of the China/Taiwan discussion elsewhere? It’s probably against some rule for political discussion, plus it’s not exactly fun to read the reasoning.
Whilst I agree there is certainly some Sabre Rattling on the part of PRC as to the state of play of Taiwan, for now it’s reasonable to keep the two trees together. Geographically it makes sense.
What you’d do with one or other respective trees I don’t know, but I’d rather not be drawn into such discussion
