That’s not what I said though
I said that none of Phantoms currently in game cannot carry AMRAAMs
I do not recall saying that “PD Phantoms can compete against AMRAAM”
I also do not recall agreeing with you at all
Yes, which is what I said when I mentioned F-4F ICE.
Seriously? I understand on some of the older aircraft But F-16C for example should easily be able to ignore friendly RWR…
Hi! A bit late but I’m curious, what is the exact reason for this? Are they not ready yet, or not planned at all?
I know and I hope it gets added as a toggle at least
He literally said that - they aren’t planned for this update
Pls read carefully my dear friend. Not planned at all is quite different from not planned this update. But thank you for your helpful input.
nvm then
Small issue with that. Japan didn’t buy AMRAAMs (though they did test them in the late 90s) until they discovered that the F-35 can’t handle the AAM-4, its too big of a missile. So unless they start with the 120C, Japan won’t have ARH missiles unless another plane that a Japanese pilot looked at once is added.
I’d guess you’d get something like the F2 with AAM-4 at the same time as AMRAAM. Same way France would get the MICA for the Mirage
So by AMRAAM carrier I should say Fox-3 Carrier.
Imo AAM-4 would be way too strong
The F-15Js tested AIM-120Bs in the early 2000s and Japan has a whole inventory of AMRAAMS since before 2014. After the 120Bs they would have purchased the 120C-5/7/8. But yes pretty big jump there.
Japans best bet for a fox 3 carrier is with the F-15J MSIP. The F-2 will be stuck with sparrows untill the late version arrives.
Honestly as a whole its still mind boggling that we can even sit here and have these conversations about War Thunder
Then an equivalent, I dont know much about Japanese AAMs.
We’d have to get placeholder AMRAAMS
Either way, I seriously doubt 1 nation will be left without them (and if its any, we all know that would be Britain)
Add this to a spoiler please
Yeah, that would be a sensible option
All I know at the moment about AAM-4 is it has an AESA seekerhead I need to do more reaearch on its propulsion system
