Sons of Attila - Rumor Round-Up and Discussion (Part 2)

Aim-9L has 10km in the front aspect at 3km altitude, and 11km in the rear aspect [18km distance traveled] at 10000 meters.
Haven’t done an R-73 test.

Why bother to add a Kiwi roundel and not add a Kiwi plane. I say right on brew, and Kia ora to a NZAF F-16.

I’ll have to try the ET as soon as possible, but it’s still inferior to the ER. Period.

Not sure why they held the ET, don’t care either, it’s a pointless missile. IR stealth gameplay is a meme.

The argument is that there are way more platforms that can hold more than just two sparrows, and so you will find a sweet spot in the range of engagement where sparrows dominate. They get spammed as I’ve said multiple times before.

R-73’s will have an impact on the furball. I expect some near 180 shots once it goes live because that’s when people will finally be able to play it enough in a situation other than the dev server, and organically try those shots. No other missile can do that, and I appreciate that.

I also appreciate that holding off until you are closer will make it almost impossible to dodge. That concerns me.

Based on the rumors flowing out in the last day or two, I’m not even sure we’re going to get through this patch without AMRAAMs and R-77s, so the furball may change enough to prevent some of that R-73 carnage anyways.

As much as it’s been attempted by some of the CC’s, true 180 kills have not really happened. Extreme angles? Sure. But that missile is not going to 180 and chase a plane in a supersonic merge. It’s a lot more dangerous chasing planes that aren’t expecting it from less than conventional OBS angles. True 180 is hyperbole.

More like 2-3km. I wish it was 4-5. Better than the 1-2km of the R-60M.

The revamped RWR needs some explanation…I understand some of the warning signs, but does anyone know what AI/RO, AIAA, and N-G stand for?
I found out that AI/RO specifies Radar gunsights such as AN/APG-30 and SRD-5, but I still don’t know what the abbreviation is. range only?

All i can say is that the turrets on the recently added CV 90105 and CT-CV 105HP are Belgian.
Honestly i find it pretty surprising (disappointing) that nothing Belgian has ever been found in the files

Isn’t the 9M just a 9L with smokeless motor and better IRCCM capabilities? The AAM-3 is said to be much better than that (without concrete numbers)

The AAM-5 is more akin to the IRIS-T rather than the R-73

AAM-5B is the IRIS-T equivalent to my knowledge.

How so?

Who gave you that idea?

Very debateable since it’s still the reason why missiles such as ASRAAM, AIM-9X and IRIS-t exist.

Viggen at lower speeds regarding low speed control is way beyond what it should be currently.

Call it by it’s name: Tranche 1

Like many other aircraft it was a fighter before it was modified to carry out air-to-ground missions as well. The missile count just is what it is.

AAM-5B is just a further improvement of AAM-5s IRCCM. First the AAM-3 and now the AAM-5. Every time you talk about Japanese missiles it’s clear you don’t know anything on the subject.

MiG-31 is probably never going to happen, not until you have advanced AMRAAM’s and R-77M’s.

Su-27 will come before that.

Gaijin, maybe you add AP shell to French 8 inch gun? It’s not funny play against Hipper/Helena/Des Moines…

I remember those messages that the Germans did not have P27ER, well, I found proof that they were at least on Mig-29

the 29Gs had a software update done by MiG during the Cockpit redesign to NATO standard that allowed 27ER to be used

but it was said that they never bought 27ERs.for the luftwaffe

I wonder if the Germans are smart guys, they obviously tried to stick the IRIS-T into the Mig-29G. Because in 2004-2005 it was already in service, and the Mig-29 stopped operating in 2013
