Israel uses both types of missiles, however the Derby is primarily used in ground launched systems. That doesn’t mean however that it isn’t used on aircraft

This would risk crippling anything but the meta planes though wouldnt it? The ones that rely on teamwork/being a furball to make their dream work? Like imagine 2 F16s vs 2 Tornado F.2s… after the SARH is over with, only 1 sides really going to win that more often than not.

The balance of the plane should been consider, through lower the BR or improve their performance, but the game mode cannot become a part of balence…
Still, as far as WT goes there would be no reason to use the Derby over the AMRAAM really
so notching is useless against it interesting and it should in theory detect a Maus at max speed
The problem boils down to Britian not having a fighter jet. They’ve got a missile truck/sniper/interceptor with Tornado F.3, but up close? The Tornado is guaranteed to die.
Sea Harrier would be a good fix! Essentially GR7 atm, but air to air loadouts and radar, but…it’s subsonic.
If you want a real tit for tat - Gripen would bridge the gap to production Eurofighters.
CF18s would work too, or Tejas.
You could also do Eurofighter DA.2
Really just depends on how Gaijin wants to move.

The Derby is far superior to most AMRAAMs (Even superior to the AIM-120C-5)
Sea harrier would control considerably worse than the Gr7 it’s based off the GR1/3 airframe so it’s not particularly agile
if you got a wingman a Tornado F.3 x GR.7 rot both with AMRAAMs could be very lethal
Yeah, Sea Harrier is my bet. Would also be the perfect platform to test the waters with Fox 3 as its one of the very few sub-sonic Fox 3 carriers. But yeah. I can dogfight F-16s and Mig-29s for a short time in the Gr7. So give the Gr7 (essentially) Aim-9M (really needed due to no guns in most set up) and AMRAAM and its a level playing field, at least for now.

Its a FRS1 with the engine from the Gr7 and a radar that makes the Foxhunter in the F3 look like a flashlight. Give it the right AAMs and it would hold its own

Yeah but it’s not going to help the lack of agile fighter you won’t be able to fly it like a GR7 as GR7 has bigger wings and LERX which is why it can turn so well. It will just get relegated to a subsonic missile bus which is just another flavour of missile bus that we are already stuck with.

Gaijin will give it flares regardless of if it had them or not for purely balance reasons. They did it to the Italian F-104S and the YaK-141 so you can be sure they will do it to the F-15A
Then again they could just skip all the way to the F-15C since thats what they seem to want to do now that we have a block 50 F-16C coming…
What’s different is that today, for Russian prices, all the other packs went up too, whether they went up in rank or not. They definitely didn’t advertise that. (“…the cost of ALL premium bundles in rubles will be revised to bring them to uniformity”…)
