Why not, IR only on the F-16C was good enough for the USAF for about 10 years. Technically I believe they could carry Sparrows, but they generally didn’t. An F-16C with 9L’s only would be historically accurate, they can just back fill with Aim-120’s when they become available.

Removal of the canards was a “mid-life” change to the F-14A before the F-14B was put into service.

An IR only F-16C wouldn’t even be an upgrade on the F-16A Block 10 when it comes to A2A, the F-16C was also designed to be BVR capable from the start so it would at least have access to sparrows however the difference between an F-16A Block 15 ADF and an F-16C block 25 is a slightly better radar, effectively being a Block 20 MLU.
Just think about what you’re asking for, you want to grind probably 450,000 RP and 1,500,000 SL for a radar upgrade to the Block 15 ADF.
It would be better for them to add Fox 1 versions of the F-15 and F/A-18 before thinking about adding another F-16.

Well Smin has already said they don’t intend to add any top rank premium vehicles, they’re changing the ranks of some old one but they aren’t adding any new ones, so with that being the case a premium F-14 definitely wont’ be coming.
No… it doesn’t. The glove vanes actuators we disconnected and the doors bolted/welded shut in already delivered F-14A’s to reduce maintenance requirements since they offered minimal value. They were still physically present on newly built F-14A’s leaving the factory, they just weren’t used.
Do you think there is an opportunity to get an IREST or at least an Aim 9L/I-1 with a new GPS with better noise immunity on the F4F ICE?
Just F4F ICE will become heavy enough and will not be able to in the BVB.

I’m not asking for it, I’m saying there’s nothing preventing them adding it without Aim-120’s right now because that wouldn’t actually be unusual… whether they do or not I don’t actually care. Fact is the presence of the Aim-120 in game has no bearing whatsoever on whether the F-16C is added.
